Hi Does anyone have children who go to school in VS district 24? Or know of anyone who works in these schools? If so, how is it? I have already been on their website and checked out their report card, but I wanted to know if anyone has first hand knowledge about the schools. DH and I are looking at a house in Lynbrook, and this is where the children in the neighborhood go to school. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!!

I live in Lynbrook! Where are you considering? Sorry I am not knowledgeable about VS schools. I just know that Lynbrook schools are good. I would like to stay in the area too! I hope we will be neighbors!

YAY The Street is Canterbury Gate. The house is not on real estate yet, one of DH's friends lives across the street and he gave us the heads up. We are going to look at it tomorrow night, its the same floor plan as Dh's friend's house so we have a good idea of what it will look like. Is this near you?? Ali

I am on the other side of Sunrise Highway. I just looked it up on mapquest and said 'driving time..5 minutes'. Cool..we could be neighbors! Good luck and keep us updated!

Hey that was right around the corner from my old house. I lived at 203 Tottenham rd. My parents just sold the house a few months ago. My friends sister lives on cantebury gate. Where exactly is the house, closer to Piccadely road or closer to reym rd, or closer to Penninsula blvd.
I lived in that house for my whole life, and I went to school at William L buck elementry school, Valley Stream South high school. My sister teaches at Carbonaro and my mom is one of the women that brings the kids in in the morning at WL buck school. School district 24 is a great district. Dont let anyone tell you any different. Also the yorkshire area where the house is is full of nice families....and it is very quiet and safe. Scott

I grew up in that school district! It was one of the best in the area, I believe it still is!! The return rate of students that come back as teachers is amazing! Mr Onorato...he's high up in the administration...was a 4th grade teacher when I was at Robert W Carbonaro!!! Feel free to ask me any questions!

I'm reading this post and laughing out loud! I went to school in the district (Buck) and now teach in the district! Btrflygrl - you are definitely right about students coming back as teachers!! :)

Well, Btrflygrl, if you went to Suezboss fiance, you went to Carbonaro with my fiance as well! Suezboss' fiance and my fiance are very good friends and grew up together!! :)
