Has anyone had or been to a wedding recently at the Vanderbilt Mansion in Oakdale? I have fallen in love with the place but I have some reservations. I'm not able to taste the food before booking and all the reviews I've seen on the Vanderbilt have been from when Lovin' Oven was the caterer. It's now catered by Lessings. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated
I don't know how recently they changed over but was there once about a year ago and it was great. I also just think the place is beautiful. I almost booked there but ended up in the city. They seem really nice and helpful too.
I booked the bourne mansion which is also in oakdale and is also lessings. I went to a wedding at bourne and fell in love with the place, food, service...everything was great very classy ans sophisticated. Ive never been to vandr but heard its beautiful
I tried Lessings food as we were considering Vanderbilt first and then Timber pOint too.. the same staff makes the food and then transports it to the college site. Great food! i've also heard fantastic feedback from wedding guests.
So the food isn't cooked onsite? They had told me it was but I'll have to followup again. I'm just really nervous about booking something without tasting the food since that's really important to us.
