Varience question...

if anybody knows about this...
im looking into buying a home. The owner had a varience for the garage but it expired before an inspector saw the finished garage. is this gonna cause a problem when i go to buy it? the garage was built to code but garage is slightly bigger then the old one (destoryed due to weather)

this is the town of huntington... the owner told me i should have little or nothing to worry about but i don't know anything about this stuff.

thanks

Definitely will need those documents in order before you close. The owner is only telling you this. Call your attorney and he will explain it all to you.

From what I know, Town of Huntington can be a real beeeottch in terms of approving variances. I wouldn't listen to the owner, he's just interested in getting you to buy his headache. You need that C/O on the rebuilt structure before you close. The bank may not approve the loan without the correct documentation in place.

yeap..this is exactly what he said about Town of Huntington... they wouldnt let him renew it when it was time. and this was 2 years ago but the Town never bothered him. It can be insepected...its been done.

The owner seems 100% truthful and honest with me. If he were to sell it to me, he's already losing money on it because of the low price. Im not worried about him even though, yes, he wants to sell it bad...

Thanks
