For all of you with a tight budget a friend of mine went to look at Roma View in Howard beach to do a big birthday from her mom in October and they quoted her 30pp for a saturday afternoon. for 100 people. ( i dont think that it includes cocktail hour though)
Also we went to Leonards of great neck and told them we were on a tight budget and they gave us a scaled down menue for 54 pp on a sat night with Viennese ( i think sat, it could have been sunday)

I heard the brentwood country club does a really nice wedding. I am not crazy about the way the outside looks though. I was considering it but its not for me.

Is the $7,000 for just the reception; or for everything (reception; limo; attire; honeymoon)?

Almost everything mami... as i said we are ver low on budget... we prefer to put more money towards a house.. we dont want to live in an apartment or our paretns house... the whole wedding will be $7000 + $2000 honeymoon...
so hopefully $9000
If It doesnt work for then i guess i will onley have a dinner... Unless we get a BIG raise in my job and hubby gets a better job!!....

Re: VCanizalez
It's doable!! Good luck with the Engagement party-maybe you'll get some $$ gifts that can go towards downpayments or other wedding costs.
Check out the Swan Club-they're very reasonable.
I saw SO many beautiful halls but they were just too much-even at $75pp it was more than we were able to spend. We bought our house 2 years ago so luckily we're not dealing with that stress at the same time...but the $3k in house expneses each month (mortgage; gas; heat; cable; DSL; phone) it's impossible to save enough $$ to afford a huge wedding.

Nope.. we need to save all the $$ we can for the wedding. Plus I think it wouold be weird to throw one for ourselves.
I do the photography for family events and stuff. If anyone is REALLY strapped and wants a photographer or a 2nd photographer that would be like a dream come true for me
