Re: vegas
I was in Vegas for a wedding in September 2001. we stayed at the Excalibur. Its on the strip but towards the end.l Not one of the nicest hotels, but the price worked well for us. I think the nicest hotel tbere is the Venetian. But the price does go up. You can go into any hotel/casino even if your not staying there. You definately want to got o the top of the Stratosphere. The view from up there is amazing.l My DH does not like heights, and even he loved it.

Re: vegas
I really the MGM Grand - but it was very big!! We loved Treasure Island, it was on the smaller side, but we loved it, their is a tram running right to the Mirage and the rooms were really nice, ans we loved the casino. I also heard that Paris was very nice too.
I loved the Mandalay Bay...they have a really cool artificial beach....its lots of fun. Also the Venetian is gorgeous and gives a romantic feeling.

Re: vegas
i stayed at the monte carlo. i thought it was really nice. there's a tram that goes to bellagio (gorgeous!). some fun things to see are the lions in mgm, the dancing fountains outside bellagio, the pirate ship show at treasure island and the shark reef at mandalay bay. i highly recommend taking a look around mandalay bay. it's one of the few 5 star hotels, super nice! the venetian is pretty cool too, but i hear the gondala ride inside is overrated. also for good shopping go to the forum at caesar's palace. just keep in mind if you are walking that things are very far apart and it takes longer than you think.
also go up to fremont st. at night and see the light show they put on. it's really cool. you need to take a bus or cab to get there, but you're hotel can help you with that.
oh and if you like m&m's go to the m&m store across the street from the monte carlo. lots of fun to see all the colors they have and you can pick out your own.
lastly if you have some money take in a show or go on a helicopter ride to the grand canyon. i've heard this is really awesome. try the one in the afternoon where you have a picnic lunch at the bottom by the colorado river.
have fun!

Re: vegas
Things to do in Vegas:
At the Rio they have a float parade over the casino where they throw beads.
Belagio fountain, and the art museam
Venetian - Gondola Rides and Madam Tussaud's. The only thing witht he GOndola rides is that you have to sit with strangers or buy out the whole boat.
We went to both Cirgue du Soleil shows, Myster is at Treasure Island and O is at Bellagio. I liked Mystere better, but they are both great.
Lions at MGM
Secret Garden and the Dolphins at the Mirage
Eiffel Tower at Paris, the view is swesome and if you stay for the Bellagio watershow it is awesome, just bring really fast speed film, because of the wind.
New York New York - Roller Coaster
Ceasars - in the forum shops there is a free animitronics show with roman gods
Fremont street - I ddin't really like, but alot of my friends did, I felt it was seedy and I felt like I was going to get pickpocketed when looking at the sho in the sky.
You can also do helicopter rides over the strip, which I never did.

Re: vegas
We have been to Vegas three times (and we are going back for part of our HM!!) - each time we stay at the Mirage because I find it to be the BEST hotel there! Being an animal lover, the Mirage is great because they have a zoo outside in the back past the pool - they have the white tigers and other animals there that Sigfreid and Roy use in their show - dolphin pool also!
Other hotels that are nice are Bellagio (really nice, but it seemed a little boring), Caesars and Venetian.
Definately see the Cirq de Solei (spelling -sorry) show at the Bellagio if you can afford it - it is spectacular!! Also, the roller coasters are all pretty fun...and there is this cool ride at the top of the Stratosphere...

Re: vegas
YAAAA I love Vegas. In fact I want to Live there. My best friend of 10 years lives there and Loves it Great schoo district Cheap houses and no taxes! but enough about that. I would recomend Staying on the strip. I say that because theres alot more todo on the strip. You really don't need to rent a car then. although some of the hotels have other properties and offer free shuttles. Rio/Harrahs shuttle bck and forth Harrahs on the strip Rio is not. Rio is near The palms (MTV real world). also Check out The Freemont Experience Downtown. They have an awesome light show. and have all the older casinos. Whenever my parents go they stay at harrahs because they get free comped rooms. I will be going to Vegas in 16 DAYS YAAA I cant wait and FH and I are staying at the Venetian. FH has nver been there so this is the trip 2 try to talk him into it. Wish me luck if you go to www.Vegas.com it tells you all of the attractions what time they run from and how much they cost. They also tell you all the shows and stuff. if you like Thrill Rides go on the BIG SHOT on top of the sratosphere tower. roller coaster at NY NY and also Sahara Across from the Stratosphere has a cool roller coaster. I am the Vegas queen so If you hav any Questions bout it FM! MOST OF ALL HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!
Remeber short ride to Hoover Dam but Ihae hear that you cant take the dam dam toor (vegas vacatio) due to heightend security. Vegas is a bout 3 to 3 and a half hours to the grand canyon! The ave bus tours and Helicopter tours EVERYWHERE!!!!!
