Vegas Help...

Vegas Help...

Hey everyone...

DH & I are planning a vacation. I KNOW he is so DESPERATE to go to Vegas. We've both never been and he wants to go real bad... I know the Bellagio is the nice hotel to go to- but we don't have the $$$ for that.

Can anyone tell me what hotels are good that aren't super duper expensive?

Thanks..

New York, New York....Excalibur (more family-ish but nice), the Hard Rock is always good...

FH just stayed at MGM back in March and loved it. You are going to have a blast - can't wait to hear all about it!

Well, if it's your first stay in Vegas, I recommend staying on the strip...

Also, not sure what you consider expensive...

You may want to try Treasure Island, Mirage, Excalibur - these are considered nice hotels that don't cost as much as Bellagio, Venetian, Paris, etc...

DH and I stay at the dirt cheap Sahara, cause we look at it as been there, done that (and we're hardly ever in the room anyway!!) But they have a good rollercoaster and casino (we've always had luck there)...

Mirage, Mandalay Bay or Treasure Island.

We stayed at the Luxor and it was nice. It was just towards one end of the strip though. We got a package deal through americawestvacations.com and had no problems or complaints.

Hey

Did you check Expedia.com's package deals?

Re: Vegas Help...

Hey- I'm checking expedia, orbitz, etc..

they have great package deals... since we are gonna go in August when it's Africa-Hot it will be cheaper..

The only thing is their ratings mean nothing to me so I don't want to go off what they say is good...

I was thinking the Hard Rock- they have a 5 day package w. airfare that is $1200

Is that good?

Re: Vegas Help...

I just saw a deal in October (which is evidently a peak time to go) at the Paris for $550 or so including airfare for 3 nights.

You might want to check that out.

Re: Vegas Help...

Sassy - is that for 1 person???? If so, I would say no, not good. I don't think the hardrock is on the strip (not sure though), if that matters to you...

ets: we are looking to go in aug...and have looked at Delta Vacations and have seen some good deals

Re: Vegas Help...

From what Ive heard, the Hard Rock is all about showboating at the pool. So a lot of T&A. Good for bachelor parties.

Re: Vegas Help...

I've not only heard the same as Sonicstef, but I've seen it - hardrock is a meat market.

Yabbo -
When in August are you looking to go? Chris and I will be there in August!!!!

Re: Vegas Help...

UM- I would like to stay away from T&A since this is a vacation with DH , not a bachelor party.. the price, by the way- was for 2 people..

we are planning Aug 1- Aug 6th.

Re: Vegas Help...

Oh, ok - the price is fine then for 5 days...

But I wouldn't stay at hardrock if it's just you and dh, jmo

awwwww - we won't be there the same time, but have a blast!

I am going August 3-11 and staying at the Imperial Palace, because I ahve been there 3 times already, and friends and I were looking for the chepaest wya to go and still be on the strip. We paid 325 for airfare, and the hotel room was 400, split between 3 people.

Re: Vegas Help...

I know people who have stayed at the Imperial Palace- although I've heard it is nice, I want something more in the middle of things since both of us have never been...

these are my choices- please give me feedback on place & price if possible... These prices are for airfare and hotel.. staying 5 nights...

Golden Nugget- $464 a person

Aladdin,, $617.86 per person

New York, NY $621.97 per person

Sahara, $453.64 per person

MGM Grand, $658.50 PP

Circus Circus, $485 PP

Excalibur, $525 PP

Tropicana, $520 PP

Re: Vegas Help...

Golden Nugget is 'downtown old Vegas' and not near the rest of the big hotels and main strip. Just a FYI.
