Veil

does anyone know where i can find a veil without a comb already sewn in? i am going to have the veil under my hair, low on my head, so i want one that can just be pinned in by the hairdresser. any ideas?

Just buy the fabric and cut it to the shape you want.

Re: Veil

Any seamstress should be able to remove the veil from the comb. I purchased 2 veils and am having them put together to form a 3 tier veil. I didn't like any of the 3-tier veils I tried on, so I chose a single tier cathedral + a 2-tier fingertip / elbow length and am having them made into a single veil.

i had heard that you could remove the comb from the veil, but the veil i was going to order from the place where i got my dress wanted to charge a ton of money, aside from the cost of the veil which was going to be $180!! i don't even want a veil, really, but my mom would be so upset...

If you do not want a veil to begin with, just buy the fabric. Tulle is CHEAP. Go to any store like the RAGSHOP and you can buy even nicer quality tulle than most bridal shops. Or do what I am considering if I do not go the birdcage veil route; buy a piece of sheer material like chiffon, take it to a seamstress to finish the edges (if you can't do it yourself and then just drape it over-the style is called a drop veil.
This is a pic of what it can look like and what the site says about it.

This Drop Veil is made from a 110' long x 108' wide circular piece of fabric. Drop veils drape over the head and are held in place with a hat pin which we provide (they are too sheer to attach a comb). Made of Bridal Illusion, a soft form of tulle created specifically for bridal veils
