Veil during reception or no?

Original post by GlitterBox24

Girls who are married, did you wear your veil during your reception, or took it off?

and those not married yet, what do you plan on doing with the veil?

or is everyone suppose to take it off? the last couple of weddings ive been to, the girls dont have their veil during the reception?

hmmmm, the veil i want to purchase is very longgggggggg and a bit steep in price, so am not sure what to do with it, its to long to wear during the reception (its long than the train on my dress)

maybe i cant wear it during the first dance only...

At Kleinfeld they said theres a way to bustle my veil - I have a very long one too (also longer than my dress) but its so beautiful and I said I didnt want to take mine off but had to and they said they'll show me how to 'bustle' it .. Not even sure what that means but I go Aug 10th so I'll post something when they show me

haha i'll see you there and we can chat about it!!

I actually don't know! I'll have to do some research.. I dont know how a little pin is gonna hold up a veil.. but ppl do it all the time I'm sure!

Yeah. I was gonna take it off but i had it made on a comb so I'm afraid it'll pull out my hair if I do.

Re: Veil during reception or no?

just found out something..

my friend had a 'bustle' added to her viel she said they put buttons and loops on it and it bustled just like a dress would.

didn't even know that was an option but something to think about!!

Well since I had to pick the hottest day of the year to get married (yes, still a bit bitter about that hehe) I took mine off right after the ceremony. It was too hot to take pictures with it on outside.

See how you feel that day! I thought I was going to leave it on longer than I did.

i planned on taking it off but didn't

Same here

me too. it didnt bother and i hardly noticed it when i was dancing so i left it in.

Me, too. I eventually took it off, before the bo-k toss and everything, but I had it on for most of the reception.

I didn't even want a veil, and I'm in love with that stupid piece of tulle.

I brought a swatch of my lace and satin from my dress and Barron's matched it perfectly for $140.

I love my veil, and it was a splurge. It's fingertip length. I'm changing into a short dress for our first dance because we're doing swing, so I'll be taking off the veil as well so it doesn't get in the way. However, I kind of want to put it back on after
You think fingertip length would get in the way for the rest of the night?

I mean, I'm putting my regular gown back on after as well...

Re: Veil during reception or no?

im quoted at $831.

but how do i get a swatch? my contract from Kleinfeld says they only provide it 2 months before, is that enough time?

I took mine off right before entering the reception. It annoyed me.
