I just purchased my beautiful gown at Kleinfeld's and I fell in love with a veil, but the price seems outrageous - $900 for a chapel length tulle veil, plain comb, alencon lace at the very bottom only. Does anyone know if this is reasonable? Or have any suggestions of places to find more reasonable veils? Or know someone who could make one?
Thank you!

Re: Veil help!
Try Barron's in the Tri-County Flea Market, she can custom make it for you and I'm sure it'll be a better price!!

Grats!
It all depends on the veil that you are buying from them (the one they put on me was about $1500 & up). When I went back they have veils that are about $250 also. Try waiting until you have your fitting unless you really like the veil & try to shop around. (i.e. RK Bridals, Suzanne's Millinery, Wedding Library).

Re: Veil help!
I had a cathedral length custom veil (on comb) with alencon lace edging around the entire thing, and mine was only $235. Linda at bloomingveils.com was INCREDIBLE. She didn't start it until she knew exactly what I wanted (we communicatied by email) and before she started sewing she emailed me pics of the veil with the lace pinned so I could have adjustments made if needed

Re: Veil help!
Kathy at Obridal.com can DEFINITELY recreate this veil for you at a FRACTION of that price. Go to her website and check out her gallery for pics of all the veils she has made.
Also, check out GettinHutched's photo album - she has a *similar* veil in there that Kathy at Obridal.com made for her. She can get any type of lace for it too.

Re: Veil help!
I got my tiara and veil at Lillette's when I purchased my gown but I was looking on Ebay and they have some very pretty veils for very reasonable prices.

I think 900 is insane!!!
I got my cathedral veil from Tri-County and it costs $30. IF you want some more detail it will run you a bit more, but not even close to 900

Re: Veil help!
Yes, that's a ridiculous price. Veils are one of the ways that bridal salons make most of their pure profit. Unless that's 100 year old rare handmade lace, it's not worth it. Besides, why would you drag valuable lace like that on the floor anyway? I second (or third) the suggestion of Kathy from OBridal--she did my veil, and it was both lovely and inexpensive. And I don't actually remember who posted it, but one of the Bees on Weddingbee had a veil made at one of the amazing lace shops in the garment district in Manhattan. It was custom-made and gorgeous, and comparable to OBridals, price-wise.
