I had decided on getting a cathedral length veil. I was planning on taking it off for the reception. But now after looking at the 06er's pictures, I think I want a fingertip length and wear it all night. I don't know what to do. What are you girls doing?

Re: Veil Lengeth
Can you get a veil with 3 layers. 1 cathedral length, 1 fingertip and 1 blusher and make the cathedral layer detachable?

Re: Veil Lengeth
My dress comes with a matching catherdal veil which i am wearing for the ceremony. But for the reception my mom wants me to wear either my sister or sil veil instead of nothing. So you can always just swap out for a shorter veil during the cocktail hour.

Re: Veil Lengeth
i agree with an above poster that you could get a veil that has a detachable cathedral part, and keep the rest
i'm wearing a fingertip veil, and will probably keep it on all day

Re: Veil Lengeth
I purchased 2 veils. I have a cathedral veil for the ceremony and pictures.......and a two tier for more pictures and the reception. I can't wait.......I love both!!

Re: Veil Lengeth
I felt the exact same way....so I just got two veils. I have a cathedral length and a fingertip. I got 2 separate veils. So after the ceremony, I will take the cathedral off and put the fingertip on.
Edited for spelling!

Re: Veil Lengeth
The woman at the salon told me the cathedral can be bustled. So that's another option. I guess I am gonna have to try on both types with my dress and see which one I like better. If you bought 2 veils, are you worried about messing up your hair when you change them?

Re: Veil Lengeth
I'm wearing a 2 layer fingertip - top layer will act as the blusher during the ceremony, then get folded back over to be a normal veil, and I'm wearing it all night.

Re: Veil Lengeth
I am doing one of these, not sure which one (forgot). And for as much as it costs, it better stay on the entire night I got it at David's.
a cathedral for the ceremony nothing for reception. I think you look 'sexier' without it on at the reception

I'm not worried about my hair getting messed up. The veils have metal combs and slide in and out easily
