I'm trying to decide what length veil I want. I love the look of a cathedral length veil but I'm worried that it may get annoying to deal with. Any opinions or advice?

Re: Veil opinions
You can do cathedral with a blusher for the church and then remove it for the reception.

Re: Veil opinions
I love cathedral veils and I plan on getting one. If the veil is embellished with lace, satin trim or lots of beading or crystals that can cause it to be annoying in my opinion because then its gets heavier and can be more of a hassle to wear. Me, personally, I'm most likely going to wear a cathedral circle cut veil which has a blusher attached that is raw edge. Just a simple, classic veil

Re: Veil opinions
When I got my dress, I tried on a cathedral length veil and loved it. They showed me how you can bustle it with a clip and it looked so pretty. I think this is what I might do.

You can always wear the cathedral length for the ceremony, and then remove it for the reception....this is what I plan on doing

Do you have any photos of this? I think I've heard of this before but have never seen it.
I'm doing a satin trim cathedral length for the church, but switching to something shorter afterward.

Re: Veil opinions
I'd say have the nice catherdal length for the ceremony and either have it bustled like another girl suggested or go without at the reception. I know I just want an elbow length viel for the ceremony and I don't want to wear it for the rest of the night.

Re: Veil opinions
Most weddings I've been too the bride removes the veil during the ceremony regardless of the length, so id say go for the cathedral!

Re: Veil opinions
my sister had a veil that had two tiers- one a finger tip and the other a removable catherdal. She wore the finger tip for all her pre ceremony pics (she went all over NYC) then attached the cathedral for the ceremony, and once that was over, wore only the finger tip for the reception.

This is what I want to do! Where did she get her veil? How much would something like that cost?
I love the look of veils, you only really get to wear them one day your entire life so I want to wear one the entire day. I dont think cathedral is practical for dancing though so would like to wear cathedral with finger tip blusher? and wear it as long as possible until dancing where I know I'd just trip on it. Then at that point just wear the fingertip one.
I'm not a fan of the bustling of a cathedral veil. It looks kind of poofy and that's not the look I want to go for hopefully.
I dunno. those are just my thoughts for now...

So she had hers made at Kleinfelds (she bought her dress there), so you can try them. I know MJ trimings on 6th ave and 37th st makes custom veils and are resonable in price.
