Veil question

Veil question

What kind of veil would look good with an all lace gown? Can't post a pic because FH checks out these boards sometimes. The lace on the gown extends into a long train.

My opinion?
a mantilla of an equal length to the gown train (cathedral length gown + cathedral length veil), and a relatively thin lace edge...

I have seen very simple cathedral lentgh veils that look bwonderful.

If the dress is all lace (IMO) you do not want too much going on with the veil to take away from the dress.

Re: Veil question

im wearing a lace jacket over my dress and gave up on veils. i LOVE lace mantillas but everyone agreed it was lace overkill. I tried non lace and just couldnt find anything i liked. But I kinda gave up quick bc i was feeling like Im not a veil girl, but def keep looking and trying. Youll find something that suits you!

Re: Veil question

I would go for a mantilla. I have a lace gown and if I were not wearing an elaborate haircomb my MOH gave me, I would be wearing a mantilla type veil.

This site has AMAZINg stuff that they custom for you and Karem the woman who creates them, is wonderful. She called me when I was considering one, to get the exact details because she wanted my veil to be exactly what i wanted. She suggested I send ehr a piece of lace from my dress and the satin from my first fitting so seh could match it exactly. I really recommend her even though i couldn't order from her due to the headpiece!

Thanks. I sent Karen an email. I love the mantilla style but I'm also afraid it'll be lace overkill. Maybe it'll be okay with a thin lace border.

Re: Veil question

Ok..so I must say I am a convert and must apologize to all the brides who told me lace veil with my dress would be too much. Although I am in a pic in my dress album with a long veil on and it looked ok, for the look I wanted (light, summery) the lace veil was too much. Even a short lace edges one was overkill. If you look in my FIRST FITTING album, you will see the one I have settles on. TOTALLY differennt but because I have such an elaborate headpiece, the veil really needed to be calmed down. Hope that helps!
