Veil question

Hi ladies,

It is killing me not having a laptop! FI STILL has not called the phone company to fix his phone line...so frustrating. I am at FMIL's home trying to read as much as I can.

Need help!!!! I need to get started in getting my veil and headpiece but I have NO IDEA what I want. I am going to try C&H since it is by my job but my question is does it need to match my dress? My dress is made by Private Label by G and it is silk satin, sleeveless, A-line with crystals on top and bottom of dress. I am pretty simple so I think I want a simple veil with maybe some crystals in it. What do you think or even better, please give me suggestions.

Thanks!

Re: Veil question

I had a very simple dress so I went with a simple veil.My mom made my veil and bolero for me. My mom attached the tulle to the pretty white bridal headband so I could put the veil on and take it off with no problem.

Re: Veil question

I have a chiffon dress, so I went with a chiffon veil to match, so it all depends. The tule just does not go w/chiffon. I think you;ll be OK w/the tule, ooh and put some subtle crystals like Jenn did.

Oh, now that I read again, I see you said SILK satin, is it shiny or what? Or is it more like flowing like the chiffon?

Re: Veil question

I used C&H also, I am very happy with their work. You can definitely go with a tulle veil but tell her you want the material very thin, that's what I got because I didn't want it to be rough. Also since you have crystals on the top and bottom of your dress I would keep the veil simple with no crystals. In my opinion it would be too much with the dress, the veil should just compliment the dress not overpower it. Keep us posted with what you decide on.
Edited to say: You should bring a swatch of the dress with you so she could match the color.

Re: Veil question

SOBE2003-IMO the best bet is to call the place you are getting the dress from & ask them the EXACT color veil you should be getting for your dress.
I have to get diamond white. I was told that white white & diamond white are the same. One lady at a bridal boutique almost had a heart attack when I said that!!
So just to be on the safe side just ask the color. So it won't look SO different. (for me white is white!! )

Re: Veil question

My dress has alot of beading on it, so my elbow length veil will be plain & my detachable cathedral veil will have scatted pearls & rhinestones on it.

I bought mine from C&H also.

You can bring a picture of your dress, the lady there is fabulous. She'll help you decifer what is right.

Also be sure to know if you need a white or diamond white veil, you may need diamond white with satin

Re: Veil question

Hi ladies,

Thanks so much for your replies. Having dinner at sisters and snuck away to log in. Hate not having my laptop and of course FI STILL has not called the phone company.

Anyway, I agree that I should keep my veil simple. IMO, the top of my dress is elaborate so I should keep it simple. I did not know that I can get a swatch of my dress so I am definitely calling RK Bridal tomorrow. Actually, there was a home message from them today saying that my dress has arrived!!!!!

IrishTracy, thanks for the tip. My dress is diamond white and I wuill tell C&H this when I go to see them.

Let me go...FI is getting antsy. Pray that he calls the darn phone company before I kill him!
