Veil question -

When should I get my veil? I want to start hair trials, but I don't know what kind of veil I am going to have yet or headpiece . . . do I need to wait for my dress to come in to match it?

The place where I bought my dress suggested I wait until the first fitting to get it.

I matched mine at the bridal salon when I tried on my dress. Still no headpiece though. I want to wait for both of them for my trial. If not the veil, at least the headpiece.

i would bring a pic of your dress and a swatch to the veil place (thats what i did for barrons). however i want to do some hair trials first so i know exactly how im going to wear my hair. this is cuz i dont know if i want a comb or a stick for the veil. i dont know if thats the right way, but thats how im doing it.

I would wait until the first fitting. That way you will have your dress on you. It will fit you almost perfectly and then you can start trying on veils to see which looks best with your dress.

I don't think I am going to get my veil from the same place as the dress - Saks - and the dress won't be in until March - do you think its ok to wait that long for hair trials?? I guess its necessary, right?

I ordered my veil a few months ago and my dress isn't coming in until March. I think you'll be fine as long as you take a picture with you.

Re: Veil question -

I picked out my veil and headpiece at Bridal Styles in bklyn (they are AWESOME!!!!) based on photos of my dress and a swatch the store gave me. WHen my dress comes in, I will give the veil place a swatch so they could dye it exactly. I will probably do my hair trial with just a photo of the headpiece because it won't be ready until February, and possibly do a second trial after I physically have the headpiece. I think you should have an idea of what your headpiece/veil will look like though before the hair trial, even if you don't physically have it.
