Veil question

Veil question

I'm hoping to visit Barrons soon to pick out and order my veil but I'm worried about the color being right. For those of you who ordered your dress and veil in different places, did you bring swatches or just tell them what color your dress is?

I'm sure there is an obvious answer to this but my brain is fried and I figured I didn't want to chance it.

Thanks in advance for your help ladies!

Re: Veil question

I ordered my veil on Etsy. I contacted the seller before and told her the color of my dress - 'Off-white' - and asked her opinion on what color I should order the veil in and she suggested Diamond White would look best.

When I get the call that my dress has been delivered I am going to go for a visit and bring my veil to see if it goes well with it. If not, it was only $30.

Re: Veil question

I have an ivory dress - a very deep, definitely not white ivory. The lady at my salon suggested diamond white. I tried on veils of both colors, and the ivory looked too dark, the diamond white was perfect.

Re: Veil question

You can bring a swatch but I didn't. I purchased my veil from Barron's. They have a bunch of different colored swatches (maybe 20) and they ask you to pick the one that most closely resembles your dress color. I chose 'light ivory' and it matched my dress perfectly!

ETA: My dress looked very white until you had something stark white held up against it. Then you could very obviously tell it was ivory.

Re: Veil question

I brought a swatch to barron's and 'light ivory' matched my dress perfectly also. My dress color is ivory but the regular 'ivory' veil swatch at barron's was too dark...

bringing a swatch will ensure you get the right color - they have a bunch of shades!

Re: Veil question

I bought my veil from Barron's and didn't bring a swatch. But my gown was just 'white.' Not any special white, just white. So it was easy to match.

Re: Veil question

I didnt get my veil at Barrons but I did get it at the booth that is towards the front called Looking Pretty. I chose one veil and I explained about not knowing about the exact color so she said I could come back and exchange it if it didnt match. Luckily mine matched perfectly.

When you go check all the booths because Barrons was actually the most expensive when I went. JMO.

Re: Veil question

I'm making my veil and I brought a swatch from my wedding dress. It was very helpful to have it... And I found tulle that matches perfectly.
