Veil question - really bugging me! need advice

Please help me out with this one-

I dont like the idea of the big moment, walking down the aisle, with a veil covering my face. I feel like I am in a bubble and feel like it is more my style to do it without the blusher.
Having said that, the ceremony is very traditional and a full mass, and both of my parents seem to think this is a big 'tradition breaker'. I know it is our day and I should do what I want, but feel like maybe i should just go with tradition on this one???is it a big deal either way??

Any advice,experience and opinions could help!!

I am NOT doing the blusher over my face. I don't care if I can see or not, the idea feels creepy (JMO). I've been to more than one traditional full mass with the bride not covering her face.

I didn't even wear a veil...

i think sometimes we confuse tradition...with the 1950's...just b/c it happened 40-50 years ago...doesn't mean that it has to happen today...nor does it mean it happened 100 years ago...

but since I am not Catholic...I cannot comment on the religious value of the veil

I wore a veil, but just a cathedral - nothing over my face.

Our ceremony was in a church, full mass, pretty traditional. No one was horrified I didn't wear the blusher - I wanted to see what was going on!

I am not doing a blusher either, tradition or not!! I will want a full cathedral only.
However, if you have to compromise, how about looking into the front blusher being of a thinner material than the rest of the blusher. Have it made detachable. They make different thicknesses, where it could almost be see-through???

I am not having a blusher, just a veil. Do what you feel comfortable with.

Not doing a blusher either. My big dilemma is trying to decide whether to wear it on top of my head as waterfall or in back under my hairdo...

HATE TO TURN YOU INTO A FIBBER BUT I think I may have a solution for you.

If you don't want to wear the blusher...don't. If your parents question it...just say you got caught up in the moment and forgot about it. One of my friends did this last year and it worked for her!

I agree with 2UNTAMED. Look for a thinner fabric so you can see out, but you are still following tradition...unless you don't really want it at all. Only you know if it is a vision thing or an I-don't-want-it thing.
