It it custom to keep my veil on through the whole reception, or take it off after the first dance?? Not sure what to do--any suggestions? It's only waist-length, not cathedral...

Re: veil questions
I don't think there is any rule, just personal preference. I took mine off immediately after the ceremony.

Re: veil questions
It's totally up to you. Some people keep them on all night. I however, pulled that ****er off as soon as I got to our cocktail hour.

Re: veil questions
I just love my veil...I plan to leave it on. If it gets uncomfortable then I may decide to yank it!

Re: veil questions
It is a personal choice, mine is coming off right after the first dance. But, then again there are people, like my sister, who adamently feel that the veil should remain on for the entire night or you won't look bridal! (Duh, I'll be the only one wearing a big white dress and a tiara so I think I will still look bridal).

Re: veil questions
I am the oddball here. I am keeping mine on all night. I will be a bride once in my life and I want the whole look, but it's definately presonal preference.

Re: veil questions
You are not the odd ball Jenn. I am going to be keeping mine on all night too. Like you said , you are only a bride once so enjoy every bite of it.

Re: veil questions
I loved my veil but I was so much happier when I took it off (and bustled my train) before the cocktail hour.
You don't need to decide now - you can prepare for both scenarios, and see how you feel that day. I was still the bride without my veil

Re: veil questions
if you look on the newlywed board, there's a first dance thread. Half of us are wearing a veil, and half aren't! Anything goes!

Re: veil questions
I wore mine until the photographer left. Around 11pm...that's almost the whole night...

Re: veil questions
Thanks for all the replies!! I still can't decide--it will be the only day I will wear a veil, so I want to wear it as long as possible, but then again I don't want to dip it the food or get it snagged on something!
