When you go to shop for a veil, do you have to bring a swatch of your dress with you to get the color right? my dress is ivory---i was wondering if they have different shades of white and ivory or if you can get away with any ivory if that's the color of your dress.

Re: veil shopping question
IMO, I would def. bring a swatch
When I first went, I though Ivory is Ivory until I got there and there was 10 different shades of Ivory and White.
I don't know how much of a difference it would make if it is slightly off, but if you can get a swatch, I would just to play it safe.

Re: veil shopping question
I got my dress at Kleinfelds and then a few months later went to look at veils so they already had my dress. May be easier to go for your veil where you got the dress.

Re: veil shopping question
I didn't have anything with me when I went shopping. Like you, my dress is also ivory. I chose my veil and that was it. When I put it on with my dress it looked great. They may not be exact matches or they may, I have no idea but they look awesome together and I don't think you will be able to tell. You have to remember that they are totally different material so its not like they will apprear the same no matter what.

Re: veil shopping question
problem is....i bought my dress at kleinfelds but it was a sample so i had to take it home with me. i'm not going for my first fitting until march, so i wouldn't be able to have them cut off a swatch until then, and i don't want to wait that long to buy the veil.

i don't see why it would look funny if the ivory was slightly different!

Re: veil shopping question
I tried them on when I tried dresses on. Glad I did, cause the one I got matches the beading. And I wouldn't have known that w/ just a swatch.
