veil with lining on the edge
The bridal store tells me that the trim on veils shows up weird in pictures. Any truth to that? I need to chose my veil on Wednesday.

Re: veil with lining on the edge

Re: veil with lining on the edge
Good idea... I think a trim is so pretty but they had me paranoid. I will ask about doing it your way. How thick/thin is your trim??

Re: veil with lining on the edge
I heard that it is the edge on the blusher that can show up weird in pictures. Depending where it hits you .. you will look like you will have a line across you. I haven't personally seen this in pictures but my FMIL tells me this all the time. I am using my wrist length veil as the blusher and it has an edging but being it is long it won't hit me acress the face or anything so I don't care too much.I am getting a thin rolled end on my veils. I also heard by putting an edging it can prevent the veil from getting a run (like pantyhose).
Now this is all stuff I heard when I was veil shopping..I am not sure how much is true!

Ive heard this rumor too but ive seen so many photos of brides with pencil trimmed veils and they all look fine.

The salon where I got my dress said the same thing. If you look through bridal books, you will notice that most don't have the edge. I liked the edge look, but I'm second guessing myself now.

Re: veil with lining on the edge
My veil has an edge and pearls dainting the edges, but nothing on the blusher. I don't plan to have the blusher in front of my face, so I'm not worried about it. I love that the trim gives the veil some definition. The length of the veil also may have something to do with it. Mine is fingertip length so I don't think the trim would do anything to the photos.

Re: veil with lining on the edge
Here is a photo of a girl with a veil like mine...it has a pencil edge and I think it looks more polished than an unfinished version. Here is one without an edge
Its just a matter of personal taste.

I like the line too SonicStef. I think I am going to have to show this picture to the FMIL wherever she tells me you can't have a finished edge if you are going to wear it over your head (which she says everytime I see her and I keep trying to ignore.)Welcome New Vendors
