Ok, so you can't really choose a veil until you know what hairstyle you want, but how do you know that you'll like the hairstyle until you see it with a veil on?
I have no idea what to do with my hair. I'd thought about doing half-up/half-down and then leaving my veil on all night (a veil on the top of my head, whatever you call that).
But then I figure if I'm paying all this money to have someone do my hair, I want people to see it, so I'd wear the veil behind my head. BUT I don't know if I'll like my hair all in an up-do. I don't like super-fancy hairdos.
What should I do? P.S. - my hair is a few inches longer than in my avatar picture

Re: Veil/hairstyle dilemma - help!
My hair is pretty much the same length as yours and I'm having it pulled back into a low bun/chignon- it will be sort of loose and not prom-y looking. I'll be wearing my veil in the back of my head and only for the ceremony and 1st dance. Then it's coming off!

Re: Veil/hairstyle dilemma - help!
I'm going to apologize in advance if this seems like no help at all but...
I've been wondering the same thing myself. Would it be possible to sit with the stylist twice to play around with two options (all up and then some up, some down)? Maybe once you decide how you like your hair the idea for which veil/headpiece will just jump out at you. Then you can go for a final trial...this might sound ridiculous depending on how much time and money this will all amount to.
Just an idea...I hope someone has better advice for you.

you can buy a piece of tule and play around with it to get an idea of which look you like

I e-mailed Denise Venti just now to see what she suggests. I hope she can do a few different hairstyles at my trial! I don't want to have to commit to one hairstyle, and then keep going back for trials (and paying for each one!)

Denise is doing my hair for the wedding- you will really like her. I had NO IDEA what I wanted to do with my hair, but she completely knew immediately what would look good with my face, dress, etc. and came up with the chignon idea. I was completely relieved and I feel confident that she will make me look gorgeous!
You probably won't have to go for two trials with her- just talk to her about your concerns. Can you borrow a friend's veil to bring with you just to get an idea?

Do a messy updo thats what I had, and I wore a tiara and veil in the back.
Im not fond of very serious updo

That's what I was thinking Wacky - I have curly hair and want it curly on the wedding day, so I was going to pin it up somehow. But I still want to wear a blusher. You can do that with the veil in back too, right?

Re: Veil/hairstyle dilemma - help!
I had bought a cheap veil & tiara off of ebay to take with me for hair trials. I have yet to go on one and am still debating on a cathedral veil then changing into a shorter one for the reception. ahhhh decisions decisions...
