I went to priscilla today and found a veil that I loved that went perfectly with my dress, only problem is it was $600, I almost fainted. Is this normal?
It was a cathedral length waterfall veil with a satin trim. Does this sound right? Any suggestions where I can get a similar one?

Re: Veils - cost?
i know what you mean. the priciest i've seen and really liked costs about the same as a wedding gown at $2000! (found out it was a Vera Wang cathedral veil which pretty much i'm paying for the name)
i did not get it though. i'm so happy because i got mine from Kleinfeld when they did a sample sale! and it's a fraction of the price at just 400! (extra long cathedral length, blusher, satin & ruffle-ish trim.)

Re: Veils - cost?
I had the same dilemma, I initially saw the one I wanted at Kleinfelds when I got my dress, it was cathedral with a satin ribbon trim and it was over $1000. Go to RK Bridal, I spent $300 for basically the same one, including a blusher and a shorter matching veil for the reception if I choose to wear it. Definitely check out RK, the private bridal stores definitely are more expensive than necessary!
My veil was $130 at RK Bridal and it's a elbow length one. I think I paid wayyyy to much but it seems like it's hard to get a good deal. I was too lazy to check out Barrons so I'm partially to blame.
$400 is a bit high...Maybe you can try buying a used one.. There are a few sites where girls sell their dresses...I can't imagine why they wouldn't want to sell a veil..

Re: Veils - cost?
they just jack up the prices. I think its robbery. I fell in love with a 600 dollar one as well and i'm going to try to find something similar. however if i cant i am going to bring a pic of it to barrons and let them do it for me. Its probably going to cost 200 or a little more.
