Vendor Cold Call Phone Solicitation

About an hour ago I recieved a cold call from Elsa Jewlers, saying they got my name and phone number from LIWeddings. Does signing up here give the vendors the right to call me? I was surprised to find they got my number from here. Anyone else have this problem?

I did- your phone number is a required field- I got a few calls from LIW vendors

I have my phone so that no telemarketers call me. They will be breaking the law if they did and can get in trouble. And I didn't give my correct phone number. I put the most popular phone number. 555-555-5555.

I used to get calls all the time but have been told that you forfeit your right to privacy when you sign up here. I changed that account and signed up with all fake info.

Never give out your real phone number when you sign up for wedding things and give spam email addresses. The promise of winning a contest is not worth it and if you want - give your mailing address and anyone who wants to find you can do it that way.

I do not do business with anyone who relies on cold calling. In the wedding business - they should build their business through referrals and word of mouth. Anyone who has to call is desperate for business.

Me neither, the only calls Ive gotten were house vendors of the North Ritz Club.

I have never gotten one call from a vendor! I have only gotten mailings from people at Bridal Shows. But little did I know until later that it says this info on what you are filling out

i didnt put my number in either if they need to get me email - i never answer my phone anyways

I dont like when they do that to. I know some off them dont call at all.

Fortunately, I put a fake phone number in my info (real address, and I've gotten tons of junk mail - I'm saving it, I refuse to book with a vendor that does cold calls/cold mailings. I don't want junk mail) - but I would never book with a vendor that called me out of the blue.

UGH! So annoying. The worst part is that I live on LA and week after week someone calls me at 6 am. I always rush to the phone thinking there is an emergency and then they ask 'Do you have music for your weddign?'

I refuse to book ppl who I have not contacted first - cause its rude and annoying.

Solicitors beware!!

i usually never give out my real info, and have a separate email address for all 'wedding related items'. that said, i did have one vendor contact me and i have NO IDEA how this person got my info. i asked them what they were talking about because i was not getting married - they hung up.
