Has anyone ever or is going to use a vendor that accepts cash only. Photographer that I really want prefers cash only. FH is a little uneasy about giving cash deposit in case something were to happen. Can anyone give me some feedback on this.
Thanks

Re: Vendor Deposit
Personally, I've been writing checks for deposits so I have a cancelled check and also getting some sort of receipt on note on the contract.. But I would imagine some want cash so they don't have to 'show it' on their books.. if you do give cash, I'd just make sure they are reputable, have been around a while, and get a receipt!

You can give a money order, thats the same as cash. Just make sure you get something in writing that you paid, on what date and have it signed.

Re: Vendor Deposit
FH likes to only deal in cash. So any deposits we've left have been in cash and he ALWAYS makes sure to get a receipt or something in writing stating that this payment was made and what the remaining balance is....but these places also took other forms of payment. We just choose to go with Cash

I also prefer to leave cash, no extra fee's or anything or money to owe later, plus most will do tax free if you pay in cash so you also save money...BUT dont think we were told we HAVE to pay cash. Alot of vendors were cash or check, then some places also took CC

Re: Vendor Deposit
I paid cash for almost all of my vendors and always asked for a receipt and had no issues. However, no one ever told me they 'preferred' cash. I've never hear that before.
