I am just starting to look at vendors and wanted to know about deposits. When you go to a photographer/florist/dj/limo place what do they usually require for a deposit?

we gave about 30% to both the dj and photographer when we signed the contracts...the florist hasn't asked for anything until he orders the flowers (but that might be because he's a family friend)

Most places we went to we left 300/500 or 1,000.00 the hall was more.

It really depends. Each of our vendors were different. Our DJ was 30%, photog & video $500 each, florist was 20%, limo I just gave $300. We paid everything in cash
