Hi ladies...I recently have been looking into which vendors i should use...but being an 08 bride most of them laugh at me and tell me to call them in a year.. First of all I think that is rude and secondly they do not give me the chance to tell them that I a mdoing it on a holiday weekend so i need to book earlier than usual. All i want to is get an idea of what the prices would be...Have any of you been getting the same reactions?

Re: vendor help
wow. that's rude. no one's responded like that to me! i've booked the reception hall, priest, dj, and photographer/videographer. they all said it was smart to book so early because prices are only going to get more expensive. my photographer/videographer even gave me 2005 prices even though i booked this past January.
Keep looking. You don't want to book vendors who are rude to you!!
congratulations on your engagement and good luck!! i'm sorry people are being so rude to you. planning is supposed to be fun!!

Re: vendor help
Congratulations on your engagement!
Well so far I booked a hall, the church and I met with a DJ - I plan on having all that plus a florist and limos before the end of the summer. I even started looking for dresses!
No one said anything about booking so early - and you are right that is really rude!!
Actually I noticed a few places, like my hall, already had entire weekends filled up with events already!
So start your planning and ENJOY!

Re: vendor help
Let them laugh!! Beleive it or not places and vendors are booking up. Especially the good ones! If you want too close you might only get the crappy ones. And the girls are right- you DON'T want vendors that are rude on the phone. That may only be a taste of what they are like!

Re: vendor help
I dont understand why they would laugh at you. Its really not that far in advance. I'm sure if you were calling some places for an 07 date... they'd laugh at you for thinking they'd still be available. We booked our place back in April for our April 2008 wedding. And he had said it was smart of us to do so. SO far we've only booked the hall, church and dj. I hope to book the photographer./videographer and limo by the end of the year to lock in this years prices, which is a PLUS!! Here are the vendors i've booked
Church- St. Francis of Assisi (Queens)
Hall- Chateau la Mer
DJ- FM entertainment ( I have quotes for them and Unlimited Entertainment if you would like)
Good luck planning and Congrats on your engagement!!!

don't feel so bad I haven't really booked anything other than my hall and the church yet either! Though I do plan on doing most of the booking before this year is up!
