Is anyone feeding the vendors? I have a dj, pianist, two photographers, and a videographer. My RH charges $45 plus tax and service. I don't really understand when they have time to eat? Also, do I ask them a head of time if they will be eating? I'm not sure how this works. Thanks!

Re: vendor meals at the reception
Yes most people feed their vendors, at least any wedding I've ever been too. They usually eat after everyone has been served, the hall will or should set up an area where they can eat. I think you need to find out for sure how many of each vendor will be at the wedding so the hall knows.

wow, i didnt realize how long it's been since the last vendor-feeding drama posts
Yes, you should feed your vendors -- most expect it and they really need to eat. If you want, you can mention it to them and some will tell you they bring a lunch/dinner, but I think the default is and should be feeding them. Most halls will charge half-price for vendors, and many (like my own) will give them for free if it's a house vendor.
Our band (whew!) is a house vendor so meals are free for them, but we will have to pay 1/2 price for our photo/video vendors.

I remember that post. Wow drama!!
Definetly feed your vendors. They have to eatl ike everyone else. I'd rather they take 15 minutes out of doing their job so they have some food.

when i gave my final count i separated it by
Adults Children under 12 Vendors
This way they don't charge you full price for vendors. For me it really didn't matter since we didn't make our minimum anyway.

Usually when the bride and groom eats thats when they eat. We're feeding our vendors and if they didnt want it I would insist since they're runing around all day.
Our Hall is in house vendors free and outside $50

You have to feed your vendors or the humane society will come after you.

I vote that you definitely need to feed them - it's a very long day for them if you don't.

Re: vendor meals at the reception
When i spoke to my vendors by phone i mentioned to them about the meals, and they seemed so appreciative, wich i thought was nice So maybe not everyone does it, but honestly i had such a long day, my 2 photogs, 2 videographers and my DOC were at my house between 12 and 1pm, Dinner wasnt served til at least 10pm I am sure they were starving and it was very hot out all day....it was the least i could do
I had 14 vendor meals

Re: vendor meals at the reception
they can be part of your guest list, but if your vendors put you at exactly 125 then you will have to pay full price for them...if your vendors put you over 125 then they will be half price or free if they are a house vendor
