Vendor Payment

Sorry if this seems like an obvious question but I'm trying to figure out finances and payment for my vendors once I find them. With all of your past experiences with booking flowers, DJ, limos, etc. have any of them accepted credit cards or is it only checks/cash? Wishful thinking but Im hoping some will accept credit cards so we can pay it off gradually!

Thanks! :)

Vendor Payment

The venue accepted credit card for first payment only, and I'm sure most of the other vendors would have also. After that, most of them want cash or offical check/money order at least for the last payment. A lot of vendors offer no tax for cash payment also. We've been able to save almost a eight hundred dollars in tax so far by paying cash to the photographer, videographer and DJ. Some even offer a discount on top of no tax!

Vendor Payment

Our Venue accepted a CC payment for our first payment, the rest have to be cash/check. Same with our limo. Our photographer only takes cash/check. I believe the same applied to our flowers. I was hoping to use our credit card for our whole catering hall becasue then we would get points for free airfare, but no such luck. But can't hurt to ask!

Vendor Payment

We paid the first payment to the venue on a card, everything else had to be cash. We have paid the DJ and the photog in cash, though the photog would have taken a card, but gave us an '8.625% discount' by paying cash, knowwhatimsayin? I paid the entire balance to the florist on a card. And the videographer. We've earned A LOT of points, lol.

Vendor Payment

I asked pretty much all of my vendors if I could get a discount for cash, and all told me no, so I must be using the wrong vendors!

I used CC for at least the first payment wherever we could.
FH & I opened up a Capital One right after we got engaged, got 0% financing for 18 mos, and we are going to use the points to go towards our honeymoon flight. :)
We're trying to use our CC anywhere we can!

Re: Vendor Payment

I did credit card for all deposits and asked if I could leave more than they required - all of my vendors gave me a max credit card amount so I was able to get points on my CC.

This is exactly what I was thinking of doing!! Opening up a separate CC just for wedding things!! Could definitely use the points for flights! Thanks!

When you paid the rest in cash did they knock off the tax or was it still included because you originally used the CC??

Nope, I still paid tax BUT they knocked a little off the package price to give me a little break. A lot of vendors told me they will still charge tax but give a discount to help out.
