Vendor Payment Questions

So I have a few vendors that have mentioned if I pay in cash I can skip the tax.....most of my vendors have great reputations whether it be on LIW or just in general. And yes I will have a contract...but do you think its 'safe'?

I dunno FH is paranoid

I think it's fine just as long as you have it written down and signed by both parties when the payment was given/received.

The only one of our vendors who had offered this to us was the florist and we do plan on paying in cash to avoid the tax

We paid cash a few times.. we got the amount paid written in our contract and got a receipt

I got $150 knocked off my total Florist bill because I told them I wanted to pay everything in cash.

The only thing I paid by credit card was my deposit ($350). I definitely recommend suggestiong it to vendors, some will accept it and others won't. Doesn't hurt to try!

Usually the vendor will write something like 'Inclusive' on the contract. That's their code word for no tax. That way if they get audited, their price, say $3000 or whatever, is inclusive of tax and they're responsible for whatever tax would have been on that $3K. But yeah, other than that it's totally fine. I do this all the time.
