Which vendor is it?

Re: Vendor problem

Depends what you mean by negative reviews. Do you mean complaints filed with the better business bureau, or just people on this website? If it is real complaints, I would seriously think about it. If it was just rants on this site, I would take it with about a shaker of salt. Even if every bride on this site had the same vendors, everybody would have a different experience with them. Not to mention, you might not know the people doing the reviewing personally...so you wouldn't know their personal tastes, and what thier expectations were to begin with.

If you were happy with your decision when you made it, stick with your gut. Don't let other people pursuade you otherwise.

i have a vendor with some BBB complaints, and i still feel confident with my choice... every business will have its complaints... and all my dealings so far with them have been great...

this would be my question also...because If I heard complaints about the bridal suite I would just think that all seem to have complaints...its just the nature of that business. If it is the florist then I would probably stick with my decision, because I woudn't have booked them with out seeing their work in the 1st place...and the same goes for the photographer/videographer....but if its something like my limos I would and did cancel...the last thing I want was the wrong limo, a dirty limo, and to be picked up late.
If it was my hair & makeup...well thats what the trial is for, so I would base my decision on how that goes. If its the actual hall...well there would have to be some major issue to make me want to cancel...like they board of health just did a review and they passed by the skin of their teeth....hope that helps!!!

Re: Vendor problem

nah - its not worth asking.... they are just going to lie.

I've had about half of my vendors 'white lie' about pretty important details - no matter how much you are paying - they are all pretty scummy. Its like they hear wedding and just up the scum factor

Re: Vendor problem

i would like to confront them but i'm afraid they'll get offended and that's not a good start to a business relationship especially to an important event such as a wedding. i would nix them. i know it's terrible and maybe i should give them a chance to redeem themselves possibly but if there's so many X marks against this particular vendor i would call it off.

try to talk to him or her first. if that doesn't work, cancel it. That's what I did. It was the BEST decision I EVER made!!!

Me too! Actually two of them! But I feel comfortable with my decision! If you do a search many of them will have complaints! Due to the nature and enormity of the wedding business, inevitably there will be some people who are displeased! Does the term Bridezilla ring a bell here?? Just contact the vendor!!

Re: Vendor problem

I only read one review about a particular vendor and cancelled but it was a horrible review- the worst possible. I wasn't chancing it. Just not worth the stress.

Re: Vendor problem

I think it really depends on the vendor.

If it is (for example) a limo co. I don't know if i would necessarily cancel....BUT RIDE THE ARSE..letting them know what you heard and how you do not expect to deal with that.

If it is a photographer or florist....depending on what you have heard that is 'negative'....i would spare myself the added worry and stress and cancel

I couldn't agree more! I would also contact past brides who have used the vendor and ask what their experience was. You may find it was just a difference of taste or a miscommunication of expectations. One vendor I used had horrible reviews yet I had a wonderful experience with them.
