I cancelled after speaking with them about it, going in there, and deciding after seeing some work that it was for the best.

Re: Vendor problem
Just wanted to step in and give my $.02 regarding the BBB. (i have addressed this before so you may find other posts i have commented on). The BBB is nothing more than a business. It is not part of the government nor do they have any authority (they are a private, non-profit organization funded by membership dues). Most businesses have BBB complaints against them. So no biggy here. Most of what 'I' have seen regarding these complaints were either a lack of communication between business and consumer or a false report (again this is 'MY' experience). Many businesses will not even answer these complaints because they usually amount to nothing and do not lead to anything more than the BBB sending you more paperwork. If a business has BBB complaints you should not take that as an immediate (there is something wrong here). Ask the vendor about the complaints. You will probably find out there was a minor disagreement. If a business has been around for years and has serviced hundreds or even thousands of clients isn't it possible that a small percentage wasn't 100% satisfied? Does that mean that you should stay away from the business? I don't think so! The best way to find out if a business is good bad or indifferent is to ask other clients of that business. And not just one or two. If you have any further questions please feel free to FM us directly. All The Best to ALL!

Re: Vendor problem
I agree Ally and I honestly think asking the vendor in a non-accusing way to explain because you have concerns is the best way to go. If you are satisfied w/ his answer then keep 'em, if not, well, then you have to decide if it's worth the risk of losing even more $$$. The only thing is if there is any reason at all that you doubt their honesty, go with your gut!

Re: Vendor problem
Another thing you could do is check references on the vendor, by FMing LIW brides who used them or by asking the vendor directly for references.
What type of vendor are you concerned about?

Re: Vendor problem
I think it depends on the vendor and what type of negative feedback you've heard - if it's from girls on this site - I'd probably FM them to find out more details. I probably would not mention something to the vendor because as someone stated, it may make for an uncomfortable situation and unfortunately, as someone else said, they may lie! I had that happen to me - I asked a vendor about something that I kept hearing was a problem with them and I witnessed it myself at a wedding I attended - and they lied!!! You have more than a year until your wedding - I'd probably cancel and get a different vendor - you don't need to stress yourself out!

Hey there, Ron. While I understand what you're saying, I do think the BBB is a very reliable source of information about a vendor.
I work for a company that has over 400,000 clients in the United States. We have less than 100 complaints from the last 3 years combined. And, almost 90 of them are 'resolved'. Not BAD!
We are VERY commited to ensuring customer satisfaction.
So, if you're reviewing a vendor who has, let's say 500 clients per year, but more than 5 complaints in the preceding year that have NOT been resolved, I say there's a problem...
