Vendor RANT! (sorry long)
Ok ladies, I wasn't sure if I wanted to post this because I feel like I don't want to bash a vendor that other ladies are using, but now that we booked our limos, it's just more evident how BAD our 'meeting' with Primo Limos was...
I'm sure that they will do a great job for anyone that has booked them and they have gotten good reviews before, but we had such a bad experience.
Warning, this is longer than I intended it to be, but I wanted to include everything.
We went out to them (a 1hour+ drive for us!) on a Tuesday - the day they have their 'showcases'... I called before we left and asked if they have all the cars there, and they said yes.
Well, that was a lie. We got there only to find out they only had 3 cars to show - the Chrysler 300, the SUV limo (don't remember what it was exactly) and the vintage Caddy.
When we walked in, we said we were there for the limo showcase and this guy who was standing off to the side said, oh well what do you want to see? (in a rude way). We said, what do you have because we're not positive yet on what we will need. And he's like, so you don't have an idea at all? And we're like yes, we need a multi passenger limo and a vintage car but we're not sure on which limo. So he walks out the front and just expects us to follow. Fine, we go out to the limo (the Chrysler 300) and we get in. It was nice. Great.
So we asked to see Rolls Royce and he tells us 'oh that's not here'... and I said, but I called and was told all the cars were here today. We drove over an hour over here to see the rolls. And he said 'well it's a vintage car so the owner doesn't like to have it here. It's at his mom's house's garage' UM WHAT???? My FH and I just turned to each other with this totally confused look in disbelief. Even if that's the case, this guy never should have told us that it was at his mom's house's garage! How unprofessional. We felt like, why are you having a SHOWCASE if you don't have the cars here to show customers????
So fine, we asked to see what other bride and groom cars they have and he took us out the back to show us the vintage Caddy. We decided it is not our style, but he tried to sell it to us (you know, oh get in, it's really comfy, etc). So we obliged. Then this guy goes on to say 'yeah this is my kind of car. I LOVE this car. It's just like the cars from the old days with the tommy guns'... Ok, is this the kind of image you want me to have of the car I want to use on my wedding day??? But still, fine. The point is we didn't like the style of the car. We took a look at the outside of the car before we went back in and I noticed that the driver's window was CRACKED! (Ladies, if any of you are using this car, make sure they fixed that window!).
We went inside and the guy (tall black man that I believe is the owner's assistant or salesman or whatever) leaves us with the owner (Ed, I believe). He was very nice - honestly we feel like he shouldn't even have the other guy working for him because he was so rude, bad attitude, etc. The owner showed us a picture of the Rolls because we mentioned that we were concerned with the fact that we had traveled so far and he didn't even have the car there to show us. We said that the picture looked great, but we'd prefer to see the car itself to see the actual condition etc., especially since the Caddy had a broken window. He said that had broken the past weekend and that it would be fixed. Then he went over the price etc. THe price was very good for the vintage car and Chrysler 300. But we still wanted to see the Rolls so in between him taking phone calls on his desk phone AND cell phone (like 4-5 calls, this is too many in our opinion especially when you have someone else there to answer it for you!) he said that if we wanted, he could have the assistant (aka Mr. Rude) drive us over to the garage where it was being kept so that we could see it and if we were happy, then we could either come back and book, or come back another day, or that we could sign right there and then and leave our credit card # and he would run it only if we told him we were good with that (um, no we're not leaving our personal info with you without even booking!). So my FH and I said, ok since we were already out there, that we'd go see the Rolls. It was about a 10 minute drive, he told us, which we found strange since the other guy had said it was at the owner's mother's house in QUEENS.
The owner told us that the Rolls was actually at the repair garage. So we knew one of them had lied to us. Another bad sign. So we get in our car, follow the assistant over to the 'garage' and when we get there, it's ANOTHER LIMO COMPANY. I was not happy and I said to them, why did Ed tell us that he would have us taken to the garage where his Rolls was being kept, but we're here at another limo company? They said that they all work together and they lend out their cars to Primo if they don't have enough or if there's a problem, etc etc. Ok, but the point is that the owner lied to us again. I was NOT happy. We still took the time to look at the Rolls (we didn't like the ones they had because of their HUUUUGE headlights) but the guy there was nice etc.
Needless to say, we decided not to book Primo. They were soooo shady. They lied about so many things: (1) the cars were NOT all there (so we wasted a trip), (2) the rolls was NOT at a garage 10 minutes away, (3) they were not taking us over to THEIR garage, (4) the rolls we saw wasn't even THEIRS, (5) they failed to even mention that they would use another company's cars, etc etc. We found them to be very unprofessional in how they dealt with us - moreso the assistant than the owner, but the assistant represents the company too!- and the owner was unprofessional in taking so many phone calls in such a short span of time.
Overall, the price was not bad, but we felt that we didn't want to book anyone just because of price. I mean, if I had to deal with that guy on the day of my wedding, or at any time before then, I think I would have gone crazy.
So, for those that have booked, I'm sure you all had a great experience. Unfortunately, I wish I had heard all the stories about them BEFORE I went (if you do a search, at least one other bride experienced something similar recently), so I'm putting it out there. It's a long post, but I didn't want to leave anything out. I hope they don't keep pulling this stuff on other people!
