Vendor Rave - Florist

Vendor Rave - Florist

I just had my second meeting with my florist. A few of you know my whole mess of a wedding plan...but we originally were getting married in West Nyack, NY, then New Hope, PA...and now The Fox Hollow.

The ONLY vendor that has stayed the same has been my florist. She was a personal recommendation from a wedding planner named Jennie Orsini(many know her from Whose Wedding is it Anyway?).

Her name is Laurie and she's with Laurelwood Design. She's based out of North Jersey - but travels to Long Island frequently. I cannot say enough about how wonderful & down to earth Laurie is.

I discovered about myself that I have VERY expensive taste in flowers... She has been honest with me the entire time - that flower may run you a little too much...this one is very pricey per bulb.. She's never made me feel weird about having a budget & sticking to it!

She's so flexible and does such wonderful work - I wanted to post about her on here & pass on her info!

FH came to the meeting this time & when we left - all he had to say was, 'most of that flower crap went over my head, but she didn't ignore me...that made me feel like i was doing SOMETHING even though i know i wasn't.' She didn't make him feel all weird because he was there...so yay!

FM me if you would like any info! I will have my sample centerpiece in October & i'll be sure to post pics!

Our centerpiece will be a 6 X 6 inch round glass container. At the very bottom -like a wreath will be all carnations surrounding it. It will be overfilled with red flowers, roses, all kinds of other red seasonal flowers. We'll also have votives all around the table & three containers per table with an lily submerged with floating candles on top. I CANNOT wait to have the sample done!!!!

We're getting a LOT of flowers - 9 tables minimum, boquets for all 4 of my girls & me, nosegay things for the 2 moms, boutineers for the boys, my dad, his dad & my best friends' dad. Single roses for the single girls (no boquet toss). Flowers for the sweetheart table (conversation hearts in the base & flowers on top) & placecard table.

Our ORIGINAL price was $2300 - she said including travel she doesn't expect it to go much higher. She'll let me know this week!

That is lower than any place I have gone so far. Thats a great deal.
What are conversational hearts????

They are the small candy hearts (in this case the big ones, the wedding ones) that have phrases on them...Valentine's day candy...
