Vendor Rave- Hair Stylist- Melissa!
Guuurrrrlllsss, if you need a hair stylist, you GOTTA call Melissa! She is UH-MAY-ZING! She was recommended to me by Danielle from Simply Couture (my doc...omg, you NEED to book her if you don't have a DOC... I will write a separate review for her shortly). I was kind of up you-know-what's creek without a hair stylist and I contacted Melissa a few weeks before my wedding. She was able to do a trial with me a few days after I contacted her. She came to my mom's house in Whitestone with all her gear and spent like FOUR HOURS in my house... first we talked about what I wanted and what sorts of styles I didn't like. I showed her pics. Then she did my hair with extensions (we had talked about doing extensions beforehand).
First she re- blow dried my hair, put the extensions in and curled everything with an iron. She put my headpiece in, too, in such a way I hadn't even thought of and looked way better than the way I originally wanted it in. My hair looked AWESOME. I felt like a mermaid (I wanted long, loose curls, with one side pinned back). As soon as I saw it I was like errm yes, can I book you now, please? My mother and aunt loved what she did, too. And my mother (god bless her!) can be a real pain in the you-know-what and is sort of hard to please. My mother liked what she did so much she asked her if she could do her own hair for my wedding (she had originally planned on doing it herself).
So after she did my hair, we talked some more about logistics and everything. She is a total sweetheart and makes you feel very comfortable. And her prices are TOTALLY reasonable. I had had a hair trial with someone else and let me tell you, it is rare to find a stylist that will sit with you for so long and make sure you are 100% happy and comfortable.
She planned on coming to my house at 4 am the day of the wedding and that she did... She ended up doing my hair, 2 bms, my mom AND my two sisters ALL BY HERSELF in like 4.5 hours and let me tell you, each one of us looked fantastic! She never stopped for water, coffee, bagels (I had breakfast there) or to use the bathroom or anything. She meant business! But she was sweet and pleasant the entire time, engaging in conversation with all of us.
I liked her so much that I'm gonna see her in a few weeks for a new haircut (gonna chop a few inches off!). Contact her for a trial! You will not be sorry! (She did long loose curls w/ extensions on me but she did a blow out with fullness for my mom, curls for my sisters and updos for my bridesmaids. She can do anything!) Email her at:
