VENDOR RAVE....CAMELOT LIMOUSINES & JOE
I'm not a frequent poster on LIW but I absolutely have to write about my experience so far with Camelot Limousines and Joe Palumbo. To make a long story short my wedding is October 22 of this year and FH and I booked with Designer Limousines back in October of last year thinking we were being good and getting everything done ahead of time to avoid a headache closer to the wedding when it only caused us an even bigger one in the end. When we originally booked with Designer we thought since they had so many locations and were such a big company they would give us the best deal WRONG! Not only did the owner attempt to rip us off from the beginning when we went back recently to make changes to our contract (which is says stated in the contract all changes may be made 60 days prior to event) he made it seem as if he would still 'help us out' and give us a substitution car with no guarantee that it would be available on our wedding date and we would only find out a week before the wedding if it could be done. Now the last thing I want to be worrying about the week before my wedding is transportation. So after numerous attempts to email the owner to go ahead with the necessary steps to a 'no guarantee change' we got no responses and it just wasn't sitting well with my FH and I, so we were willing to forfeit the deposit and go with another company to avoid the stress and headache of using Designer on our wedding day.
So thats when I came to LIW and looked up limos and found nothing but great things about Camelot Limos and Joe. I called up the office on Wednesday morning and got an appt for that afternoon without a problem. We even arrived 10 minutes late because I was coming from work and Joe was nothing short of accomodating from the moment we walked into his office. We explained our situation and from the start we could tell by the look on his face when we mentioned Designer that he felt bad for us and how bad we had been taken advantage of. Now I know most people won't say nice things about their competition but even when we mentioned other limo companies Joe was honest about which one's he thought were good and he spoke the truth with first hand knowledge about why companies such as Designer should not be in business. We basically felt helpless before we sat down with him and felt like we had been legalled robbed by Designer. Joe did not push anything on us or tell us which cars to get to make his profit increase like Designer. He was more than willing to accomodate us. The professionalism and personability of not only Joe but his staff had taken away the neverending headache caused by Designer. Joe knew that we were losing our deposit with Designer and was willing to take that deposit and more off of our package with him. He is giving us 3 designer limos including the phantom for over $3000 less than Designer and not charging an upfront gratuity as well. He was straight forward with us and encouraged us to ask questions and there was no question asked that he couldn't answer. He treated us as if we were family and we knew when we left his office that we would be in safe hands with Camelot. Being our wedding is not for another 2 months I can't write anything firsthand about the limo service but I will say that we saw the cleanliness of the limos and professionalism of the staff and are looking forward to seeing them pull up on our wedding day. I wouldn't recommend a vendor usually until after my wedding but I will definitely be recommending them to everyone. If you have any hesitations about going with a certain limo company go with your gut feeling and do yourself a favor and see Joe at Camelot. Even if you already signed with a limo company (especially Designer) going to just sit down with Joe is worth losing your deposit to have a worry free wedding day. After all it is a once in a lifetime event and you want everything to be perfect and when we see the Camelot crew pull up that day we will know that everything will be off to a perfect start as long as we're in their hands!
P.S. You know that you chose the wrong company when they park their limos outside of their competitors office in another town to get business. What a pathetic way to gain future customers only to rip them off!
