Vendor reviews from recent wedding...

Well, I went to my friends wedding yesterday, and I felt like a sneaky reporter taking mental notes of all the things I liked and didn't about each vendor.for my own purposes So here goes!

Ceremony & reception on The Beach Club, Ronkonkoma. The room was WAY to small for 150 people. The dance floor was so small that people were literally dancing between tables! The bridal room looked and smelled like someone's musty basement. Actually it WAS in a basement! For real! The 'bridal attendance' introduced herself, and was never seen again. The service was not great..the bridesmaid's table was short a place-setting and chair. Someone mentioned something to the bride about the service, and her mother flipped and said Don't tell Tara (the bride)anything negative, just tell her and she'd take care of it.

DJ...by DJ Mike They were nice, and fun.

Flowers...Village FLowers in Huntington Village. The most fresh, beautiful table centerpieces i have ever seen. People were claiming dibbs on them from the minute we sat down. Unbelievably beautiful flowers.

Photographer/Videographer...Celestial Photog. Saw them taking lots of pics. They seemed nice. Guess you can't really tell til the proofs come in.

Favors..wine bottle corks with bride and groom name on them. Everyone thought they were very cute and functional.

Hair/Makeup..Sole Salon in Hunt..very pretty updos. The hair was done in the salon, the makeup artist came to the Beach Club. The bride told me they gave her the bridal attendents tip cause she took amazing care of them...all the little details the attendant SHOULD have been doing. And they looked great. Lots of people actually commented on it.

Dress...Maggie Sutera..from Adrienne's in Islip. My friend thought they were wonderful. The bridesmaid's dresses were beautifully fitted, every one.

Think that's it all! Just some useful info for future planning!

I forgot to say that the food was good!

I was married at the Beach Club last Sept..

I would have to agree that the Beach Club is way too small for 150 people. I was married there last September and we had only 75 people. I would say that if you are considering it you should have no more than 100 guests. I am surprised to hear that the bridal attendant was nowhere around. My bridal attendant was wonderful and was there for everything any of us needed. As a matter of fact the entire staff was incredibly accomodating and helplful throughout the entire day. As for the bridal suite yes it is in the basement and could use a redo for sure. However we spent almost no time in it, because we spent the whole cocktail hour outside with our guests and it was not really important to me. The grounds are beautiful and it was a gorgeous day so we wanted to be outside.

Their food is excellent so I was glad to hear that you felt that way as well.

If the bride has complaints she should definately address them with the management. I am sure that they would want to know if someone did not do what they were supposed to.

If you were married there last September, why does your profile list 2003 as your wedding date?

That's rather strange...

I have no idea why that date is there. I was married Sept. 23 2001. You can go back and do a search and you will find my original posts about my wedding at the Beach Club. I have been posting on this board since January of 2000 when I got engaged. I haven't looked at my profile since I first entered my info, but even when I did enter it, there was only a month and year. Thanks for letting me know. I will correct it now.

I just tried to correct my profile and it won't let me go backward in time to correct the date. As I said, you can check last September and you will find the original post about my wedding.
