I was talking to my dad last night and told him how 2 of my vendors requires a final payment before the wedding of the wedding. He said that makes no sense because what if they get their money and not show up? I know thats why we do our research, Better Business Bureau, recommendations, etc. But it is a really scary thought.

Re: Vendors and Final Payments
If they are an established business the last thing they want is an unhappy customer letting everyone know their horrible experience. It couldn't hurt to let them know that you on here and that you will be RAVING about the positive job they do. It can't hurt...

Re: Vendors and Final Payments
My dad thinks it's crazy too, and I agree, at the moment of your wedding day, you have no leg to stand on. If you are using reputable vendors, I wouldn't worry, and there is really nothing you can do, so don't go crazy.
It never used to be that way either, I don't know how it all changed.
I know the company I work for asks for final payment the day of the wedding.
My hall actually wanted final payment 2 months before the wedding, and I said no way, I haven't even sent the invites at that time!!! They agreed to 1 month (still insane) but what can I do? Besides not tell my dad?

Which vendors do you have to pay in full before hand? I think only our hall and florist need th emoney before... Photo and video get their second third beforehand and the DJ gets it the day of... Limo is day of also for the remaining half... Now I'm curious!
