Vendors - Payments

what's the deal with when vendors expect full payment? for example the photographer i went to see says they need full payment a month before the wedding? My DJ said i can pay the balance the night of the wedding which seems more reasonable. i can see paying 3/4 before the wedding then the remainder when i pick up the pictures.. Not too sure how it goes since i haven't booked that many vendors yet..

for me, everyone was different

Band - gave deposit - balance is due that night

Photo / Video - gave deposit - 2500 due 30 days before - rest is due when album is picked up

Flowers - gave deposit - balance due 30 days before but he said we could send payments throughout the year if we want but dont have to

Gown - gave deposit - balance is due at first fitting

my dj i have to pay the night of the wedding
limos due the day of wedding
photographer 50 per cent due before wedding and fifty two weeks after.

RH - have to pay $5,000 by november. Nothing else is due until 2 weeks before the wedding

all other vendors i booked thru wedding world. I gave them $200 down. I have to pay 25% by jan. then nothing else is due until the week of the wedding

As far as dj I have heard people put down anywhere from $200-500 depending on the price. I didnt book that yet so i am not sure.

Yeah DJ's always are the night of the wedding.

But everyone else I have to pay before the wedding.

For my photographer we had to pay for 75% and then we pay the rest after the wedding when we do the album.

All the vendors are goofy and have their own way of doing things.
