vendors recommended by your RH

do you girls recommend going with the vendors that your RH suggest? i live in suffolk and my weding is in nassau and things like the limo company dont really matter to me. so should i just go with the ones rec. by RH?

advice please!!

In my experience (i'm a queens bride/westchester RH) the recommended vendors were WAYYYY overpriced. Some of my vendors have pointed out that the 'house vendors' pay a kickback to be the 'vendor of choice' for x, y & z. So the recommendation isn't always based on quality, and definitely not on value. Given that you have time, it will really pay to shop around for most vendors!!

Ask the vendors their deal with the RH...I know that if i use the vendors recomended I don't have to pay for their meals...unfortunately I've only met one that I liked!

Definitely shop around and meet with a lot of vendors. I ended up only using one recommended vendor, and that was for hair/makeup (so not really connected to the hall). All of the recommended vendors we met with were very nice and did good work, but we went with others for financial and personality (clicked with them, liked their work best) reasons. The recommended vendor list is great because it gives you a place to start. The downside is you get phone calls from them for MONTHS!
