Has anyone had this happen to them?? I had it happen twice....
I called a limo place in Nassau & they said they would prob be too expensive for us & we should try & contact someone in Suffolk County....he was average in price & I wouldve used him but OKAY! lol (we are getting picked up in suffolk & church & RH is in nassau)
I got an email today from an invitation vendor who said here is the price & what we offer, and 'you might want to try vistaprint, my friend got invites for $1 each & they came out really good'
Ummmmm am i missing something?

Re: Vendors telling you to go elsewhere?
thats a bit insulting! Why don't they say something like 'the cost would be the ____. IF this doesn't work for you we can discuss other options'. SOme people just aren't professional nor do they have business sense.

Re: Vendors telling you to go elsewhere?
I don't think the limo driver was bing unprofessional, just honest... he felt logistically it might work better and cheaper for you to use someone in Nassau
But the invite person... that's obnoxious, I'd like to smack him in the face

Why on earth would they not want business? So surreal that they would say that. Oh well it only helps you out.

Re: Vendors telling you to go elsewhere?
happened to me too with limos... though they were charging me travel fees to go out east, so i decided that they were right and i booked someone closer to my RH.

Re: Vendors telling you to go elsewhere?
Just think of it this way Kerri... It is their loss that they do not get to work with you and your FH!
I really do not understand some vendors. Don't they understand that this is a customer service industry!
Honestly I can love the work of someone but if they have bad customer service I would not go with them. I do not want my vendors to stress me out. Planning and Paying for a wedding does that enough. My vendors are suppose to help not hurt me!

Re: Vendors telling you to go elsewhere?
Joe from Camelot did that to me and I actually thought that was really awesome. He was honest that he couldn't really be 'competitive' with pricing since he's in Nassau and my church and RH are in Suffolk, so he recommended a few limo companies to me. I appreciated that and thought it was super cool of him!!

Whhaattt.. that is insane!
You would think these people were in business to make money not send money to other places! you're prob better off without those vendors!

It's their way of saying they don't want your business.

Re: Vendors telling you to go elsewhere?
Maybe it was a worker that is angry at their boss and is trying to make them lose business!!!
I don't know... LOL! I'm just trying to understand why would someone not want the business??? I mean that's why they're in the business to begin with!!! Crazy people out there

Re: Vendors telling you to go elsewhere?
i kinda get it for limos if there is additional fees for having to travel over a certain distance like from nassau to suffolk and then back to nassau i could see it as trying to help you out from having to incur additional fees, but as far as invites go that was uncalled for and a real jerk move.
me and FH have incurrued that kinda behavior before too. not during wedding planning but definitely when traveling last october we went on a cruise and when boarding we walked right over to the VIP line and this nasty woman stopped us and said 'this line is for VIPs only you need to wait in the back of the general boarding line!!' FH said 'yes and we have VIP boarding' moral of the story dont judge people based on appearance or anything else we may travel in mets jerseys and jeans but we still travel first class. this guy was quick to judge and now hes losing out on your business. he sounds like an idiot who i wouldnt want doing my wedding invitations anyway.

Exactly this. I told Joe some ideas I had as far as transportation and he told me it would be a waste of money, and he ended up being right. His honesty is one of the best things about him and that is why I booked with him immediately.
The invitation person on the other hand, thats totally weird and unproffesional.

Re: Vendors telling you to go elsewhere?
Joe does that because in the end its not worth all the traveling fees he would have to charge you. He could say yea come book with us and charge you all those fees that wouldnt be a good business decision. Plus if you are using an antique he doesnt take them past a certain point hth
