vendors who do not have websites

Does anyone here find themselves less interested in vendors who do not have websites? I'm talking about vendors other than the catering hall itself.

If I find that one does not have a website where I can get more info or see their work, I'm not as interested.

I keep thinking that a good photographer, band or videographer should have a website. My florist does not have a website for her shop, but I knew her before, so it's different.

oh yes! I do ALL my shopping online before I will drive anywhere.

#1 They have to have a website
#2 If they are a photographer there has to be a photo gallery
#3 If they are an orchestra, band whatever they need to have sound and/or video clips!
#4 Caterer needs to have a great webiste showing food, rooms etc..
#5 Florist - needs to show samples

I DO NOT HAVE TIME to drive around.. There is no way.. I may be eliminating some good ones due to do website, but oh well LOL They need to get with the times if they want my business LOL

I actually found myself not making an appt with one of my vendors because I wasn't crazy about their web site, but we had extra time so I did... I am so happy I did because in person their work was amazing and now I just love this vendor!! I also found that some vendors had GEORGEOUS sites, and when I met with them I wasnt so crazy about them...

so remember dont always judge a book by its cover! JMO

Absolutely. If a vendor really cares about their business, they will have a website.

I think websites are extremely important. I am just beginning my planning and it is a great help to see what stuff they offer before actually meeting with a vendor. I know that they cant show you everything and that by eliminating places based on their websites you could be missing out, but face it, without the websites you might not have even thought of them to begin with. I do agree that some places have awesome sites and then you get there and become extremely disappointed. Happened to me last weekend after driving an hour to see a place. The guy we met with was so rude too:( Oh well, this is just my opinion.

Having a website is so important nowadays especially when it comes down to photographers. You want to really look how their work is and honestly for me I would be dead and helpless since I'm planning from miles and miles away. Besides, get with the times. It's 2005.

I would probably not go see a vendor that doesn't have a website. Today's society is so computer oriented, and having a website is an extremely important business tool. So if a vendor does not have a website, to me that vendor is not interested in reaching out to customers. It also shows laziness and cheapness. (is that a word)? If someplace is a serious place of business, they should have a website.

I think it's important to have a website. However, I don't think it would stop me from contacting a vendor, especially if I heard good things about them.

I have to disagree. While it's nice to be able to look online for their work or samples. Keep in mind it's up there for advertisement purposes. They put their best stuff up there. I saw a photog's website and the pics looked amazing but then I went in to see them and they showed me the same pics that were on their website. When I asked for more pics they weren't the same quality. I laso checked out a few halls online and when I went to visit the place looked nothing like the pics online. On the other hand the woman I am getting my invites from doesn't have a website but she also has great prices which might have something to do with not having those extra advertising costs. I am sure there are plenty of great vendors that don't have websites. JMO.
