So I have a couple of gaps in my teeth that never closed even when I had braces when I was younger. My mom and I were talking the other day and she stopped to tell me that the gaps seemed like they were getting worse after I got my wisdom teeth out (I guess because there's room for my teeth to move now...?). She told me I should really get it fixed before the wedding. I don't want to get braces or Invisalign because of how long it takes so I was thinking about veneers. FH is totally against it because to him, they all end up looking like big 'chiclets'.
Has anyone gotten veneers before or know anyone that did? Does it look ok? What was the procedure like?

Veneers?
It's so funny you bring this up. I had two smallish gaps next to my front teeth on either side. I was considering getting veneers and spoke to my dentist about it.
She basically laughed and said I didn't need veneers to fix it, just cosmetic bonding! To get veneers, you need to grind your teeth down so much that there's barely anything left. It's really bad for young people to do. Cosmetic bonding is covered by insurance and takes less than an hour. I got it done on Monday and my teeth look great! I know only I notice it but it's one less thing to be insecure about. I would definitely bring it up to your dentist and do some google searching on it. And it matches my teeth perfectly!
ETA: Cosmetic bonding may not always be covered my insurance but i know my dentist billed it as a normal cavity filling since it's the same materials!

My older sister got veneers done. They did look huge and crazy weird on her. At first.
Once I got used to them you can see they are perfectly normal sized teeth, its just when you are used to seeing different teeth its a big difference. If anyone saw her now though, you would never know that they aren't natural.

My mom has veneers and I call her Chicklet teeth (in a very loving and joking manner). Personally, a gap in your teeth is very hot. It's super trendy right now too so go with it!

Haha, I have to make sure I don't tell FH that you girls agree with him! He'll say 'I told you so!'
luckyerialc, I'm going to have to check out cosmetic bonding. I had heard of it before but couldn't tell which one was better.
Thanks girls!

Veneers?
I want veneers so badly but they are CRAZY expensive. My friend has them and I don't think they look too big, I think they look perfect, but maybe thats because I only knew her with the veneers and not before she got them done.
