How many of you are having the Venetian Hour at your wedding? My mom thinks it's a waste of money and food, but my FH really wants it and I would like to have it too.
We are thinking of doing a partial venetian table, but don't want people to think we are being cheap. We were thinking the chocolate fountains and some of delicious deserts.
What do you think?

Re: Venetian Debate
Dessert is THE most important meal in my family so I went for the Full. My full includes the chocolate fountain which is what I really wanted, absolutely had to have, didn't care how much it cost me If I didn't go for the full, I would have just had the cake and the fountain. I don't think it will look cheap if you go with the part vienese and fountain, but if you can afford the full and that is what you really want I say go for it!

Re: Venetian Debate
We're not doing one, although it would be nice. I would rather have one extra hour of dancing!! Our wedding ends at 12:30am and to have a Venetian Hr would be crazy to be eating that sort of food that late.

We're not doing one. The cake comes with mousse and cookies, and they pass chocolate covered strawberries. Sounded good to me!

We are doing one! My mom insisted, in our family, its a must!
To some people its a waste...to some people its fabulous. Its all in personal preference.

Re: Venetian Debate
We're having a full Viennesse hour....it was a must to FH and guests love it! Floral Terrace sets it up in the foyer outside the ballroom so it won't interrupt people that want to continue dancing and not eat dessert.
If you want it & can afford it, I say get it!!

Re: Venetian Debate
I really like Viennesse Hours!
I am not having one because I don't have the money for it... I would rather spend my money elsewhere.
But if it is something that YOU want for YOUR wedding... I say GO FOR IT!

Re: Venetian Debate
If you have the extra $$$ I say go for it. I LOVE desserts. We are actually saving some $$$ by having all of the desserts but not the extra hour. The party ends at 12:30 as it is and we figured the guests might not stay if we add the extra hour.

Re: Venetian Debate
I really wanted the full vienese hour so I got it. They set it up in the same room as the cocktail hour so it won't interrupt any of the dancing! Everyone usually loves the vienese hour.
we are doing the full Viennese until 1:30am and THEN an afterhours until 2:30am
i love Viennese its always my favorite part of the wedding! i am a HUGE dessert person!

Re: Venetian Debate
we're doing a venetian hour, except it will only add a 1/2 hour to the total time... our wedding is on a friday and CH will begin at 7:30, reception at 8:30-12:30, if we did a full hour it would bring the end time to 1:30am which is LATE for a friday when half the guests are coming straight from work.. so we did just a venetian HALF hour

Re: Venetian Debate
We're doing the full viennese hr, I'm excited about having it but if we weren't, I wouldn't be all that upset.. just think how important is it to you, and would you really miss it if you don't have it?

Re: Venetian Debate
if you have the $$$ and its something you and your FH want.....i say get it!! Id love to have that but nevermind we cant fit it in our budget but that also means an extra hr for the band....so it would just add up! So we passed on it!!

Re: Venetian Debate
My hall includes the venetian table (supposedly a 'mini' one...but it's actually huge)..otherwise I wouldn't have done it, although I enjoy it at other weddings, I would've preferred to spend the $$ elsewhere.

Re: Venetian Debate
we are having one - but not extending it an hour- and the way the swan club does it - the room has a little alcove part and thats where the desserts are, so the dancing doesnt stop!

Re: Venetian Debate
It was a no brainer for us!!! We wanted it and it was the 1st thing I ask the halls we went to see.
If you can afford it go for it!!!! There's always room for dessert.
