Venetian Yacht Club

Venetian Yacht Club

Hi! I am getting married at the VYC in April and I am thinking twice about the colors I chose. My girls are wearing lilac dresses and I wanted to do a lilac and light green theme. if I do purple and green flowers in the centerpeices would that clash with the decor in the room? The VYC is mostly golds and reds...so not sure if it will match or not. please let me know what you think!

Hhhmmm, I had a hard time picking colors too, but I think it could totally work Not sure if you were planning on doing uplighting, but if you do, it will change the ambience of the room, so you could pick a color that would make it work. Also, from what I recall, the only red was the chair cushions, so I don't think anyone is really going to notice that once they walk into the room.

I use to work at VYC and i never noticed any clashing of color schemes, it always looked fantastic no matter what colors were used. I don't think you have any worries.

Hey Doreen,
Based on your experience, which entree selections would you pick from VYC?? What did you think of the duck, and would you go with the chateau briand or the filet mignon?? tia

i was thinking the same thing, i decieded to do rose pink and gold, i figured with all the gold in the rooms, i might as well incorporate it in, so gold white and pink it is,
i did my food tasting early, but its definately nice to hear from somone who worked there, what foods do you rec?

thanks girls! nice to see girls with the same reception site as me.

did you girls book your vendors yet?

Personally I loved the filet mignon at VYC so i would go with that. Duck is always a good choice but i never tried it when i was there.

I got married at VYC in November and didn't even think about the colors crashing with the decor.

We did wind up with a fall color them, so it fell into place with the decor.

I honestly wouldn't worry about it too much and go with a color scheme that you like. I don't think many guests would comment that your color scheme doesn't go with the decor.

We picked the following entrees:
Filet Mignon
Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail
Double cut pork chop
Garlic glazed chicken
The Vegetable lasagne

All entrees' were wonderful!

You picked a great place! FM me if you have any other VYC questions.

Thanks for all the info ladies!! Oh, here's a question...do they put candles along the window or do I have to provide them?

Re: Venetian Yacht Club

I'm getting married at the VYC. They told me they are putting votives on the tables, but not on the sills of the windows. The windows are bay windows, so the window sill is relatively low to the ground. Just a word of caution, if you put candles on the window sill, that could be a potential fire hazard should someone brush up against the window sill and knock over the candle.

Re: Venetian Yacht Club

I am not using any of the house vendors, but I have been contacted by a DJ and a florist indicating they were the house vendors for the VYC; however, I have already booked both with other vendors. Are you using any of the house vendors?

Which Limo company are you using?

Re: Venetian Yacht Club

I'm getting married there in Oct, and I'm using purple, grey, teal and lime - I went to a wedding there at night and you can't really tell the background colors b/c of the lighting (candles, etc.) so I think any color scheme you do will be fine! It's so pretty there!

I know my DOC is goign to put votives along the windows.

Did anyone or is anyone going to deal with the two weddings at once situation? I know that is one of my biggest concerns!

Re: Venetian Yacht Club

I'm not too concerned about the two weddings, since one is downstairs and the other upstairs, you'll still feel like its your special day.
I booked with one of their vendors, MME Entertainment for my music and uplighting....we had good chemistry with the owner which is why we picked him.
I also checked out Fat Cat Paperie which is WWAAAYYY out east, and they had the best invitations I saw, but I couldn't afford.

Hi girls! i bought about 100 extra votives and im gonna have them put them on the tables and other tables i need them to set up. i know they put some on the tables themselves but i wanted more and they said it was probably better if i brought my own. im not putting any on the window sills.
