For the ladies who have had or are having their reception at VYC, are doing uplighting?
I'm confused and dont know if I should have it or not.

I am considering it, but have to see how the budget pans out. My wedding is in July and therefore sunset is after 8pm (I think!). I did see uplighting at the LIW Expo and you def got a nice vibe from the colors even under translucent lighting in the hotel.
It will just come down to pricing I think.....

VYC just installed new colored lighting in their ceilings- its gorgeous! It really does look stunning. Like I said its in their ceiling borders.
So you can still have the lighting effect, regardless.

Supposedly it is being installed now for upcoming summer and fall events. I don't know exactly when it will be finished.
Are you getting additional uplights?

Due to budget, I dont think we will. I really can't wait to see what the room upstairs will look like once its done.

we are doing it and we have the downstairs room. if you want the effect but not the full cost maybe get less heads or only use 1 color v. having the changing lights? there are lights in the ceiling but we think the uplighting all along the walls is really gonna make the room POP! we are working w/ samantha btw and LOVE her she is sooo quick to reply and very sweet!

Not a VYC bride but I was at a nighttime wedding in the upstairs room and they didn't have the lighting, and it still looked beautiful! So don't worry either way!

I think that uplighting along the walls in addition to the lighting overhead will really pop!! It will look great! I am having uplighting along the walls and then the lighting overhead in the upstairs room.
We are working with Giulio. We are in the upstairs room and I am very excited to see the room with the new lights.
Have you picked your menus yet??

Thinking about 180. We are close to max of the room but i love the set up with the outside patio
