VENT

So my two out of town bridesmaids just tried ont heir dresses. They are complaining that they are too big and can't afford to take them to get altered (even though they haven't gone yet to find out the price!) I know that this was doen properly because I did it myself at the store. Based on their measurements these were the sizes they needed to have ordered! Had they come to the store and tried on dresses I could have tried to see if a smaller size would have worked but we wanted to be safe than sorry! I can't deal with the complaining! AGH! They asked me 'Is there anyway to exchange the dresses?' WHAT?!?! NO they take months to come in! argh! help!

I would tell them just that....they didnt take the eextra time to be there and try the dresses on so therefore they should be responsible for the alterations. What we did was ordered the dresses then took them to a private seamstress and had alterations done and it was WAY cheaper than at the bridal shop. Have them start looking. Sorry you have to deal with this

I have BM's complaining too about $hit left and right. Im soooooo tired of the complaining! I totally understand how you feel... you are not alone Lauren. FH told me to tell them if they dont like it, then they dont have to be a BM.

They are only 18 and 16...so im sur e its their mom (my aunt.) she already called both my mother and I! Argh! glad to know I am not alone!

That's annoying... I know being in weddings are not cheap but I would think anyone would know that alterations would be included under the bridesmaids financial responsibilities. I can understand if people complain about throwing super expensive showers or bachelorette parties but I really don't think people should be complaining to you about this!

Perhaps they know someone who sews? My MIL altered my bm dress for my friends wedding and SILs dress for mine so depending on how extensive their alterations are maybe they can ask someone they know?
