vent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so my rsvp date was 2 and a half weks ago...i did my seating chart was all set to go..and would u believe yeaterday and today i had 14 people call/text email e saying they were coming

yes i know i invited them and i m happy but come on people!!!!!!

OMG!!!! 14 PEOPLE? That's CRAZY! And I assume you'd made multiple attempts to get in touch.

Put them ALL AT THE SAME TABLE - that will teach them!

That is why i told people sorry i already paid too bad. lol. I know that's terrible but you give people so much time and yet they still wait so screw em.

Honestly....try to put off seating as much as possible. Get a general idea but people are going to add on and fall off up until the day of.

I underpaid Fox Hollow by 5 people...for a wedding of approximately 130, I thought that was alot. I was prepared with the cash in the event it was necessary the day of the wedding.

Turns out....the day before- 2 people cancelled and then 4 didn't show up. I got to transfer the one meal to vendors.....nuts right?

Let me ask this....My RSVP date is Oct.15, I don't have to give final ct until 10 days before but I would of course like to know asap so I can get things done....seating chart, financials .( I expect to be over so I am waiting on final ct and NO's to see what we are paying). Plus its just ridiculous that a person cant send back a self addressed stamped envelope. So.................

At what point is it ok, if ever, to say 'sorry your RSVP was too late, Ill miss you but you can't come'???

Ask Gloria (GRod2be)! She had to do this. Personally, my RSVP date is today, but since last week FH and I have been hounding our outstanding RSVPs (there were about 80) ... now we are only missing about 6 so I am hoping we don't have this problem!

people just dont get it! there is an rsvp date for a reason!! well at leave its just adding people! 3 days before i had people cancelling!

I completely understand. People are inconsiderate. I had six people RSVP the day before I was going to make my final payment. I also had two people that didn't tell me they were coming and took someone elses seat at the reception. People are just rude!!! I hope they show up. Good Luck!

One of my guests just didn't show up to the reception after RSVPing yes... and his son got married the week before. You think he would have known better. So much for wait until its there turn, I figured something bad happened since he was at the church, but I never heard from him... some people are just rude. We had 14 people just not show up. Some just didn't come and decided not tell us or some RSVPd with their spouse or dates and one didn't come. Which almost annoys me more.

But I agree, put off your seating chart. I was getting changes up until the week before, and not all of them were ones you could get annoyed about. My dad's friend ended up in the hospital and couldn't come. My mom's cousin was able to pull the funds together last minute to come up from Florida so we needed to move her to my family table. Things happen. My other cousin cancelled because her son's wife walked out on him and he was devastated and unsure how to deal with his kids and she ended up flying down to FL to help him out. Another friend couldn't tell me until last minute because he had just been accepted tot he police academy and couldn't commit until he was given his training schedule. Life happens. While some people are rude, others have good reasons... you have to be willing to bend. I gave them a seating chart about a week before, but I didn't hand in my final seating chart until Thurs (for Sat) and even then I made one change the day of.

Yea, I had 5 out-of-towners rsvp 2 days before the wedding. 2 DAYS!! So I had my mother call them (they were her side) and they had already booked a room and everything, SO I went to my caterer and had to add 5 more people. Then after all this trouble, THEY NEVER SHOWED UP . I swear I would never get married again just so I didnt have to do invites/rsvps.

14 people that is carzy. Honestly i did my seating chart 2 weeks before the wedding. Then revamped it when some people got sick or decided to bring someone. I know its not easy i had to figure it out for 210 guests in the end. But as long as you have the basics you can now add those people & move around a bit.
