VENT!!

VENT!!

So I don't usually post but am really pissed and wanted to share this and get some input from girls who actually understand the stress of weddings.....
So after searching for a dress my mother finally had found one she loved, shes very picky but simple, which works well because my wedding gown is simple too, I am not a bling/shiny type of person. I told my mom what color to get as I want her to match my BMs.
So my FMIL had bought a few dresses, she on the other hand is very flashy, likes bling. She calls my mom the other day and asked to see what dress she was ordering (bc I guess she wasnt 100% thrilled with hers.) My mother (i guess we were naive) showed her it online. So the next day, the stupid biotch goes and buys the same dress but with bling that my mom had gotten. I mean same exact neck line, fitting, material, to the freaken gathering amounts and ribbon. Mind you, this is NOTHING what she wanted originally. She wanted different necklines, waist lines, etc.

So now my mom is spending her afternoon after work trying to find another dress. It'll look stupid because FMILs dresses is like one up my moms. UGHHH!!

OMG! That's S*CKS!!! I'm so sorry! What is wrong with FMILs!!!???!!! What did FH say when you told him? I asked the moms to not get black, dark brown, or navy since it'll blend in with the BP (they are wearing black). SOOOO, FMIL got navy!!!! (O yeah my mom is wearing blue but like a royal and it looks AWESOME next to black)

So I know how you might feel a little bit! FMIL drives me INSANE and FH defends her most of the time....

Re: VENT!!

That's not right. Your FH should tell his mom that the MOB has the first pick to dresses.

Re: VENT!!

wow that is ridiculous I would be soooo upset and annoyed... why do these women feel compelled to do stuff like this?

My mom searched and searched for her dress trying to get it done asap so that my FMIL would be able to have enough time to find something and order it and now the other day she said to me...'can't i just buy something off the rack?' really lady..if that was your intention why did you pressure my mother to find something so quickly?

Re: VENT!!

Oh, and to make sure she didn't have to return it, she right away said and they are already making alterations. FH was somewhat supportive and was like she shouldn't have done that but was like its only a dress. He doesn't think she did it with any malicious intent but I beg to differ...

That's not cool, your poor mom now has to go searching for another dress. I hope she finds something great.

Oh snappppppppppp! What a b!tch move that was!!!! For serious...that took some balls. How did your mom handle the news on that one? My mom would have freaked out. My deepest wedding fear is that my FMIL will show up in champagne...nowing damn well that thats what I'm wearing.

Seriously, thats super weetodddid.

Re: VENT!!

I say ur mom should stick to her ORIGINAL dress!

Let FMIL deal with finding another dress! And if she doesnt, oh well, she'll have to find another one or be ur mom's twin!

I dont mean to make light of the situation.....I cant believe how upsetting that is. My FMIL has pulled out a few of her own in her 'bag of tricks' but why doesnt your mother...just to stick it to your FMIL, wear her original dress to your RD? I added a joke below that has this same situation. That will really fix FMIL & teache her not to mess w/your mom!!!!!

A couple was getting married, and it was only three days before the wedding.

The bride calls her mother with some bad news. 'Mom,' she says, 'I just found out that my fiance's mother has bought the exact same dress as you to wear to the wedding.'

The bride's mother thinks for a minute.

'Don't worry,' she tells her daughter.'

'I'll just go and buy another dress to wear to the ceremony.'

'But mother,' says the bride, 'that dress cost a fortune.'

'What will you do with it? It's such a waste not to use it.'

'Who said I won't use it?' her mother asked.

'I'll just wear it to the rehearsal dinner.'

edit b/c i cant spell
