I hate to be negative at all about my wedding, but I don't know if it's because I'm home sick all week I have time to process information and I'm starting to get annoyed. First, it's actually starting to hit me that it's coming up so I'm getting nervous. Maybe that's playing into it too.
I have one bridesmaid that has been negative about everything and I've just been blowing it off. The other issue is money. I'm sure everyone is conscious of money all the time, but I really am being so sensitive about this especially after being in my friend's wedding a couple of months ago and spending thousands of dollars and being unemployed.
My mother planned the entire shower and paid for all of it. The girls aren't even doing a joint gift so they can spend however much they'd like or not like on a gift. The dress was an average price, alterations on the low end, I found the cheapest possible hair/make up.
The only real expense is my Vegas bachelorette party which I'm extremely grateful for. From the beginning I told them we didn't have to do it because obviously it's an expense, but they all said they were looking forward to it because it's a girl's trip/vacation. None have really been without their significant others so it was a great excuse to go with just the girls.
My FH is partners in bars/nightclubs/restaurants there so we have discounts on just about everything. We are staying at a very inexpensive hotel at a very inexpensive rate, we are having completely free dinner on Friday, very inexpensive dinner on Saturday, very inexpensive club on Friday night, going to a pool party on Sunday instead of out at night so that saves money too. I was SO cost conscious. We're not staying where I'd prefer to stay, and we're not going where I'd prefer to go, and we're not getting packages I'd prefer to get. I'm doing everything with them in mind, because I believe no matter what we do we are going to have so much fun just being together.
The entire weekend will be $320 including the hotel and we have a suite plus connecting room. I think it's an amazing price. To go to Vegas for a weekend, going to dinner, hotel, and clubs for $320 for 3 days is practically unheard of. And again, I told them multiple times if it's too expensive I actually prefer they don't come because I don't want them to feel uncomfortable. It's not everybody, just a select few.
They keep saying, this is a vacation for them etc, well if it was and they tried to do this on their own with no hook ups then the price would definitely not be what it is.
What do you guys think, am I crazy? And if I'm not, how do I handle this because honestly at this point I feel like canceling. I know I won't cancel, but that's how I feel. I was more excited about this trip than my own wedding, but at this point I'm dreading it.
