So we are picking the bridal party and so many people are expecting to be in our wedding. Literally we just have SO many friends between eachother. How do you decide without hurting others feelings?? How large is your bridal party? What is too big? I need help its driving me crazy! I am going to see a few halls this weekend too! Overwhelmed

I don't think there's such thing as TOO big, but make sure you pick people who you know for sure will be there through thick and thin. Don't pick those who will flake out, or who haven't been the greatest friends lately.
Bridal party drama is the worst, and having too many people contributing to that drama makes it even worse!

I have 8 girls. My sister is my MOH, then her wife (my SIL), my two FSILs (FH's sisters), my cousin, and my 3 friends... I have 3 other friends that I wanted to ask, but it was one of those things where if I asked one I would have to ask all 3. I decided on my childhood best friend, and my two friends from high school... the other three were friends from grammar school, but I couldn't choose between them. One or two of them might have expected to be in it, because they would sort of bring it up in conversation when I first got engaged, but when I asked the bridal party, I spoke to the other three and just explained that because of my sisters and my FSILs my party was already so big... I told them they would be included in the bachelorette party though so they were happy haha

Mine is 8 people total (4 groomsmen, 4 bridesmaids). I didn't want it big.

This!

We have 5 on each side and for me that's perfect. A lot of people have big bridal parties and love it. At the end of the day, you need to do what's good for you and no one else.

I have a large bridal party too - 9 girls, 4 of them are my family. I decided that the only people other than family that I wanted in my BP are people that have been a significant part of my life for a substantial amount of time. I have been close friends with each of the girls in my BP for a minimum of 10 years, 3 of them since Pre-K.

I would just be sure you choose people that have already been there for you during times when you needed them in the past. The last thing you need surround yourself with during this time is unreliable or dramatic people.

It's hard without hurting people I had to make a tough decision to leave out a friend that is notorious for negativity and drama because when it comes down to it, it's your day and there will be pleanty of stress without drama causers!

ours is 17 total. we kept it all to family with the exception of my best friend since 2nd grade and my sisters bf. We did this to try & not hurt anyones feelings.

We are having 3 on each side ... My best friend is my moh and fh's 2 sisters are bridesmaids. He has 3 friends on his side. And we are not having any kids in the wedding. Might seem like we have no friends but I know with the group we have this will be relatively drama free. Lol

Eta: it also doesn't help that I am an only child! Small immediate family

most likely we are having 7 girls and 6 guys, plus 2 flower girls. i have 4 very close friends, 2 of which are MOHs. it was important to me that my friends and both my dad's and mom's sides of the family were represented, so it got a bit bigger than i intended.

We are having 5 on each side, plus a ring bearer and flower girl. I wanted it smaller than that even, but there were a lot of unexpendables! I'd tell the people who get offended that you want to keep it down to a certain number and maybe give them something else to do that day.

I think I'm going to be keeping it small to avoid stress and drama. Even the most chill people can get nuts during weddings and I already am not good at handling drama among girls. That said, I would pick any friends you're very close with, who you want to share the day with. Try to avoid girls you already know might be jealous of you getting married because they'll only be Debbie Downers and spoil your excitement. You'll want friends there who will be genuinely happy for you and make the day even more fun. Good luck with the picking

We have 7 bridesmaids including MOH, and 7 groomsmen including BM. I tried to pick based on who I would want to point out to my kids in 20 years. I want to be able to tell them about the best people I've ever known, and people I hope will still be in our lives.

It is YOUR day! Do what you want!! Honestly, because I didn't want to hurt people, deal with drama, or let anyone down, FH and I decided to just have a MOH and BM. THATS IT!!! I have a sister and he has a brother so it really worked out! Needless to say, I still have some friends who were upset by my decision to not have a bridal party.

Sometimes I want to say 'not your wedding... GET OVER IT!' hahahahaha

We have a small BP. I have my MOH, 2 BM's and 1 flower girl and he has his BM and 2 GM's.

My closest friends are guys, so I'm having them do the readings instead of being in the BP.

We have 4 and 4 and two fg's
2 MOH (matron and maid) both my very best friends since HS then my very close work friend who I seriously probaby spend more time with than anyone else since we work together.. and my FSIL. I dont think any of my other freinds realize my co worker is in it yet.. Im sure if they did they would be hurt but honestly I picked the the people that would give me the least drama..

His four are his boy cousins from his moms side..
My one flower girl is my Matrons daughter and the other is FH daughter.
