VENT: A MAJOR TRIAL 1 WEEK AFTER OUR WEDDING

Original post by Kate In Love

My sister had been hospitalized because of an eating disorder. This has taken a toll so much between me & my husband. Why instead of going into a honeymoon... we were in the hospital? He understood the situation later on.... but that also meant I cannot get pregnant yet (you can't be stressed out while pregnant). She's still in the hospital now & is very resistant to treatment. I am worried about her that I frequently stare blankly into an empty space. My husband worried about me... so I tried so hard to cheer up.

As she suffers... I am suffering too. My poor sister.

Please pray for her.

i'm so sorry to hear that. i hope she starts accepting treatment soon.

i know it's hard but you can't take it out on yourself if you can't cheer her up.

we just we through something similar with my own sister. we didn't have to cancel our honeymoon (luckily), but it's definitely very upsetting and stressful. As someone that's been in your shoes (in some capacity), the best thing I've done for HER was just listen--it's obvious why she's in the hospital, and when she's ready to talk about it, she'll open up. However, the best thing I've done for ME was doing a stress-relieving activity. I'm a writer, so I started writing more, taking my dog out on longer walks, and talking about it to my husband when I needed to. Let me know if you need anything!

Thank you... it's nice to hear that I am not alone in this kind of situation. As I visited her, she doesn't want to talk to me (because now she doesn't trust me)... she didn't eat. Doctors & nurses were having difficulty with her. It's sooo depressing and painful. I am tempted to drink a little alcoholic bev. to ease my pain a little bit (I am not into drinking normally!). And I blankly stare constantly at an empty space. It's also very hard to pretend to my husband to cheer up, too hard to enjoy fun with friends... only to find myself feeling so sad afterwards.

I am usually a very positive person & I do have faith in everything, but.... at this point in your life where trials are this big, you wouldn't know if that TINY SPARK OF FAITH that remained in your heart will continue to flicker.

But I am still hoping for the best.... hoping for miracles to happen ONE DAY.
